WoW Mythic+ Tier List: Class and Spec Rankings for Keys
A practical Mythic+ tier list ranked by what actually wins keys at +20 and above - utility, stops, defensives, and damage profile. Updated for the current season.

Most "tier lists" rank classes by sim DPS. That's the wrong metric. At +20 and above, the keys that get timed are timed by groups whose comp covers stops, removes, and survivability - not by groups with the highest single-target DPS sim.
This tier list is built from how high-rating keys are actually being timed this season. Not theory; what the top-200 are running.
How this tier list is scored
Every spec is graded on five things that matter at +20 and above:
- Stops & CC - the kicks, stuns, and incaps that lock down trash. Title-range keys bottleneck on stop coverage, not damage.
- Defensive ceiling - how big is your "I should not die here" cooldown, and how often does it cycle? Tyrannical bosses ignore mediocre defensives.
- Damage profile - cleave, single-target, burst window vs. sustained. Match this to which keys you push.
- Utility - bloodlust, soak immunities, mass dispels, gateway/door, brez, off-heals. Compounding small advantages.
- Skill ceiling - how hard is it to play at the level the spec needs to perform? A theoretical S-tier you can't pilot is a B-tier in practice.
Anything S-tier is timing +25+ this season. A-tier is timing +22-24 and pushing past +24 if the player is exceptional. B-tier caps around +21-22; C-tier has a hard ceiling around +20 unless the rest of the comp carries it.
Tank tier list
| Tier | Spec | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Brewmaster Monk | Stagger + Touch of Karma + Diffuse Magic = three unconditional saves per fight. Best stops in the game with Leg Sweep + Paralysis + Ring of Peace. Mobility solves bad pulls. |
| S | Blood Death Knight | Best self-sustain in the game by a wide margin. Asphyxiate and Death Grip on short cooldowns. Anti-magic Shell makes magic-heavy bosses a non-issue. |
| A | Vengeance Demon Hunter | Sigil-based stops are AoE and instant. Metamorphosis is a hard cooldown. Damage profile is comp-dependent but high in practiced hands. |
| A | Guardian Druid | Best self-healing among tanks pre-cooldowns. Stomp + Skull Bash + Incap Roar make trash trivial. Some bosses punish the predictable damage profile. |
| B | Protection Paladin | Top of the second tier. Bubble + Lay on Hands solves any boss death-check, but stops are weaker than the top three (only Hammer of Justice + Avenger's Shield silence). |
| B | Protection Warrior | Shield Wall is hard-mitigation gold. Stop coverage relies on Storm Bolt + Shield Charge - sufficient but not generous. Kite-fragile. |
Healer tier list
| Tier | Spec | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Discipline Priest | Atonement DPS contribution at +20 is 5-8% of the group's total damage - it's a healer that's also a sixth DPS. Pain Suppression solves boss windows. |
| S | Restoration Druid | Regrowth + Lifebloom rampover lets you heal AND DPS. Soothes, Hibernate, Cyclone, brez. Tranquility is the most flexible healing CD. |
| A | Mistweaver Monk | Fistweaving DPS contribution rivals Disc. Revival is a global save. Para + Leg Sweep + Ring overlap with the Monk tank kit, doubling stop coverage. |
| A | Holy Paladin | Lay on Hands + Aura Mastery + Divine Shield-on-others. Strong on Tyrannical, weak on Fortified because trash healing is single-target heavy. |
| B | Restoration Shaman | Spirit Link + Healing Tide remain elite cooldowns. Stop coverage is poor (Hex only). Mana issues at +22+ unless you sub-totem perfectly. |
| B | Holy Priest | Best raw healing throughput. Stop coverage is one Holy Word: Chastise. Movement is rough; Symbol of Hope is an unsung hero CD. |
Melee DPS tier list
| Tier | Spec | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Outlaw Rogue | Killing Spree on big pulls + Shroud of Concealment for skipping = unique value no other DPS provides. |
| S | Windwalker Monk | Storm Earth & Fire cleave + Ring of Peace + Touch of Death execute. Highest stop count of any DPS spec. |
| A | Frost DK | Pillar of Frost + Breath of Sindragosa burst windows align with bloodlust openers. Anti-magic Shell adds another defensive. |
| A | Havoc DH | Mobility + immunity-style Netherwalk + Chaos Nova AoE stun. Damage falls off Tyrannical compared to S-tier. |
| B | Fury Warrior | Best execute-window damage in the game. Defensive kit is thinner than other melee S-tier; relies on healer to compensate. |
| B | Enhancement Shaman | Strong burst, decent utility (interrupt + Hex + brez), but lacks a top-tier defensive cooldown. |
| B | Retribution Paladin | Lay on Hands + Bubble + Word of Glory off-heals make Ret one of the most survivable melee. Damage is competitive, not dominant. |
| C | Survival Hunter | Niche pick. Bloodlust + Misdirection + Tar Trap CC. Damage profile poor on +21+ without a perfect comp. |
| C | Assassination Rogue | DoT-based damage is a poor fit for the burst-pull tempo high keys reward. |
Ranged DPS tier list
| Tier | Spec | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Augmentation Evoker | Buffs the rest of the party so hard it warps comp meta. Time Skip + Stretch Time on demanding pulls. The single most-stacked spec in the top-200. |
| S | Shadow Priest | Mind Sear cleave + Mind Soothe trash skips + Power Infusion to a partner. Dispersion is an underrated defensive. |
| A | Frost Mage | Best CC suite of any DPS (Polymorph + Frost Nova + Cone of Cold + Ice Block). Damage relies on group setup. |
| A | Balance Druid | Solar Beam silence is the best stop-AoE in the game. Innervate is a healer mana save. Vortex on demanding pulls. |
| A | Beast Mastery Hunter | Aspect of the Turtle makes BM the most survivable DPS. Misdirection + tranq shot + Bloodlust = pet utility-bomb. |
| B | Devastation Evoker | Best ranged AoE in the game on paper. Defensive kit is thin and the spec is unforgiving on bosses with mass AoE. |
| B | Affliction Warlock | DoT-cleave + Mortal Coil + Fear + gateway. Pet-based defensives are often inadequate at +22+. |
| B | Demonology Warlock | Tyrant burst windows are some of the best in the game. Suffers on bosses with mass AoE that kills the imp army. |
| C | Destruction Warlock | Single-target chaos bolts struggle in cleave-heavy keys. Capstone keys reward AoE more than burst. |
| C | Fire Mage | Combust burst is real. Sustained damage and movement are weak; high keys punish both. |
How to read this list as a player
If you're at +18 and grinding, your spec barely matters. Play what you're best at; the gap between an S-tier player rated 3000 and a B-tier player rated 3000 is invisible.
If you're pushing +22 and beyond and rating-stuck, respec to one tier higher if your time investment will be more than 80 hours this season. The spec change pays for itself; below that threshold, the relearning cost outweighs the gain.
If you're a tank or healer plateauing, the comp around you matters more than your spec choice. A B-tier tank with an Aug Evoker + Disc Priest comp will beat an S-tier tank in a comp without those.
What the tier list won't tell you
- Your group's familiarity with the spec. A tank you've run 200 keys with is worth a tier of theoretical advantage.
- Patch-week shifts. Tuning patches restructure the list. The S-tier picks above are stable through the current season but expect movement on the next major patch.
- Specific affix weeks. A B-tier on a Fortified affix can perform like an A-tier on a Tyrannical week. Match your push schedule to the affix that suits your spec.
Frequently asked questions
Is the WoW Mythic+ tier list the same on US and EU?
Yes. The class meta is identical across regions; only the player population shifts. EU title cutoffs are usually 50-100 rating points higher than US because of population density, but the spec rankings don't change.
How often does the Mythic+ tier list change?
Major shifts come with content patches (every 2-3 months in retail). Minor shifts come with weekly tuning patches. The S-tier picks are usually stable for an entire season; A and B tiers shuffle more often.
Should I re-roll my main for a higher-tier spec?
Only if you'll log 100+ hours this season. Below that, the relearning cost is higher than the rating gain. If you've already played 200+ keys on your current spec, the comfort advantage outweighs spec-list differences up to one tier.
Where can I find a verified booster for my key?
We list every WoW Mythic+ tier on WoW Boost - keystone +2 to +30, with title-range pushers booked for the high-key carries. Every order is hand-picked, VPN-protected, and you can stream the run live.
How does this tier list compare to raid tier lists?
Raid tier lists weight cleave-vs-single-target differently because raid bosses don't have trash phases. Some specs (Destruction Warlock, Fire Mage) are stronger in raid than in M+; others (Outlaw, Brewmaster) are weaker.
Does the tier list factor in bloodlust?
Yes - specs that bring bloodlust naturally (Shaman, Mage, Hunter, Evoker) get a small implicit bump because the comp doesn't need to slot a separate lust class. Comps without a lust source rely on Drums of Fury, which is a non-trivial gold cost over a season.
