ARC Raiders Beginner Guide: Plan Your Loot Run and Extract
Build a practical ARC Raiders extraction routine: choose a goal, limit your risk, watch for machines and other Raiders, and know when to leave.

In this guide 6 sections
An ARC Raiders run is successful when you bring useful loot home, not when you visit every interesting building. Embark describes the game as an extraction adventure with both hostile machines and other Raiders. Plan for both before leaving safety.
Give the run one purpose
Choose a goal you can finish: learn a route, collect a particular material you currently need, or complete a task. Write down what success looks like before you enter. A clear goal helps you decide whether another fight or detour is worthwhile.
Avoid combining an unfamiliar route with equipment you would struggle to replace. The value of a learning run is the information you retain, even when you do not extract.
Plan the exit before the loot
Open the map and identify how you intend to leave. Then think about a second route if your approach becomes dangerous. The shortest line on the map is not always the safest path: open ground, noise and limited cover can turn a small shortcut into an expensive mistake.
As you travel, remember landmarks that work in both directions. A route you can only recognise while moving toward the objective is not yet a reliable extraction route.
Reassess after every noisy encounter
A machine fight can attract attention beyond the enemy you are shooting. After an engagement, check your surroundings before immediately opening containers. Ask whether you still have enough supplies and a clear way out.
When playing with a squad, decide who watches the approach while someone interacts with loot. Keep callouts short: direction, threat and intended movement.
Use a simple stop rule
Set your own leaving condition before the run. For example: leave when the required item is secured, when supplies fall below your planned reserve, or when the return route becomes uncertain. These are planning rules, not hidden game mechanics.
The mistake to avoid is changing the goal every time you find another promising building. An inventory full of useful loot does not improve by being lost on an unnecessary detour.
How should a solo beginner practise?
Repeat a small route until you can describe the landmarks and extraction approach without stopping to reorient. Expand it only after you can consistently explain why a run succeeded or failed. This is more informative than copying a long farming route designed for experienced players.
