THE GUIDE

Dragon Ball Legends rewards more than tapping every available Arts Card. Your defensive options, Ki and team selection matter just as much as the attack you want to land.

Bandai Namco's official battle guide explains the basic controls, Vanishing Gauge and several battle formats. Use the current rules shown in your selected mode; different formats do not always use the same team-selection process. Official battle guide

Learn what happens after you vanish

A Vanishing Step requires a full gauge. After using it, avoid behaving as though the same escape is immediately available again. The official guide explains that the gauge recovers over time and switching allies can restore it.

Practice recognizing the moment after a defensive action. Instead of instantly pressing another attack, watch the opponent and decide whether to continue, change distance or switch. This is a timing habit, not a guaranteed combo.

Keep an eye on Ki

Arts attacks use Ki, and holding the screen charges it. Learn how much your planned sequence needs before starting it. Running out halfway through a plan can leave you reacting without the tools you expected.

Use low-pressure battles to practice short sequences cleanly. A repeatable two-step action is a better foundation than an ambitious string you cannot reliably perform.

Choose for the battle rules

In the standard format, the official guide describes selecting three battle characters from a six-character party. It also outlines other rulesets, including PROUD. Read the selected mode before assuming one team arrangement is universally correct.

Compare character abilities and relevant team effects. A collection of individually exciting units does not automatically produce a coherent battle plan.

Treat Rising Rush as a decision

Collecting seven Dragon Balls enables Rising Rush under the standard explanation. Consider what you want it to accomplish rather than using it solely because the button became available.

After a loss, review one exchange where your defensive resource or Ki was missing. That usually produces a clearer lesson than blaming the entire roster.

Where should returning players start?

Bandai Namco directs new and returning players to its official beginner material. Revisit that before spending resources to imitate an old team. Official beginner-help page
