MapleStory Classic World Access: Founder Packages, Accounts, and Launch
Check MapleStory Classic World access dates, Founder tiers, launcher differences, account linking, and reward deadlines before planning your first session.

Status checked October 11, 2026: MapleStory Classic World is in Founder's Access. The announced Grand Launch date is October 21, 2026. Those are different starting points, so a message about the game being available today does not mean every package includes access today.
This guide covers Nexon's official Global MapleStory Classic World. It does not describe a community-created experience in MapleStory Worlds, a private server, or the progression systems of modern MapleStory. Start by identifying the exact product you are opening, then check your account and access period.
Identify your access before troubleshooting
The three Founder's Package names are Snail, Orange Mushroom, and Zakum. Orange Mushroom and Zakum include Founder's Access from October 6. Snail starts at the October 21 launch. A package's name therefore matters more than a receipt that merely says you bought something related to MapleStory.
Check package access dates and account entitlements in Nexon's Founder's Packages FAQ.
Compare the package shown in your account with the game you are trying to open. Keep three checks separate:
| Check | What it answers |
|---|---|
| Package entitlement | Does this account have access during the current period? |
| Installation | Have you installed the correct game files? |
| Account identity | Are you signing into the account associated with that entitlement? |
Installing more files cannot change a package's access date. Buying again does not fix a sign-in mismatch. Work out which of these three checks is failing before choosing a remedy.
Compare editions by their actual differences
Every Founder tier includes commemorative items. Orange Mushroom adds the Founder's Thief Outfit, while Zakum also adds Manji's Outfit and Founder rings. The important access distinction is between Snail and the two tiers that include the earlier period; Zakum does not start earlier than Orange Mushroom.
Nexon's sale and eligible upgrade window ends on October 14, 2026 at 11:59 PM PDT. That is a store deadline, not the Grand Launch date. Keep it separate from the date when you intend to start playing.
If you already own a package, inspect the recorded tier before comparing another one. Make a short note of the difference you are actually looking at: access timing, a particular appearance, or a platform purchase option. This prevents an edition comparison from becoming a vague assumption that the largest package is necessary to play correctly.
Choose an installation route that fits your computer
The Nexon Launcher offers a standalone Classic World client. Steam packages Classic World with modern MapleStory, so its installation includes both. This is a practical difference in required downloads, not a difference in which Founder account can use its benefits.
For the Nexon Launcher, locate MapleStory in the library and select the Classic World toggle. For Steam, use the MapleStory library entry and make sure the bundled installation has finished updating. Nexon's instructions require a verified Nexon account, with the intended account linked to Steam if you use that route.
Example: you have limited drive space and do not already play modern MapleStory. Compare the standalone installation with the combined installation before starting a download. Do not judge the requirement from the name of the library entry alone. Conversely, if the combined game is already installed, inspect its update state before deleting it and beginning again.
Check available space on the actual destination drive, including room for the updater to work. This is a preparation step, not a promise of a specific download size; the size can change with updates.
Treat account linking as an identity check
Write down which Nexon account owns your package and which Steam profile you intend to use. Verify those identities before proceeding through a linking prompt. A familiar display name is less reliable than checking the account settings directly.
Example: a player previously used one Nexon account for modern MapleStory but bought the Founder package with another. The first task is identifying the purchase account. Repeatedly launching through an already linked profile does not establish that it is linked to the purchase account.
Keep receipts and account details available for your own checks, but do not post login credentials in community discussions. When describing a problem, the package name, launcher, error message, and whether the correct account is active are the useful details.
Know what carries over from modern MapleStory
Nexon states that NX balance is shared between MapleStory and Classic World. Game-specific features are separate: modern Maple Points and MVP status do not transfer into the Classic World experience, and Challenger World characters cannot transfer there.
This matters when planning your start. Do not build an equipment or character plan around progress you have on a modern character. Use your modern account history to verify identity where needed, then inspect Classic World's own character and currency screens for the new adventure.
The games also have separate in-game names. Confirm the character name you are using in Classic World when arranging to meet someone rather than relying on a name they know from modern MapleStory.
Keep reward deadlines separate from access dates
Founder items arrive through the in-game mailbox. The claim deadline is November 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM UTC; a claimed package must be opened within 30 days, after leaving Maple Island.
Create separate reminders for the mailbox claim and the opening window. A launch date tells you when you can enter the game; it does not describe how long an unopened reward will wait. Read the item tooltip before leaving any time-limited box untouched.
For a group start, agree on the date everyone can actually join. An early-access player can prepare their account and controls while the group chooses a later shared session. There is no need to turn that scheduling decision into an assumption about how fast everyone must level.
A final check before your first session
Confirm the official Classic World client, intended account, current access period, and completed installation. Then reserve the session for learning the game rather than resolving a preventable account mismatch.

Frequently asked questions
Does buying on one platform prevent me from using the other launcher?
Founder benefits follow the purchasing Nexon account through the supported launcher routes. Keep that account identity consistent; changing a launcher is not the same as transferring benefits to a different account.
Why does Steam install modern MapleStory too?
Nexon distributes the two games together in Steam's unified installation. The standalone Classic World option is available through the Nexon Launcher instead.
Is an early-access login problem necessarily a broken installation?
No. Compare the package's access period, the purchasing account, and the installed client first. An installation can be complete while the account or entitlement check still fails.
Can I use a modern MapleStory leveling guide for my Classic World character?
Only use instructions explicitly verified for Classic World's current release. Shared branding and familiar locations do not establish that modern progression systems, transfers, or requirements apply.
