THE GUIDE

A Teamfight Tactics beginner should learn to explain each gold purchase. Are you strengthening the board now, preparing an upgrade or saving for a later decision? Having an answer is more useful than following a fixed spending rule regardless of the match.

Riot's official game introduction describes drafting from a shared pool, automatic battles, items, economy and positioning. The fundamentals remain useful across sets, while champions and traits change.

Build a board that can function

Start by identifying which units take pressure and which need time to deal damage. Place the sturdier part of the team where it can protect the damage source. Read the active traits rather than collecting units that only look related.

Our suggested question is: what makes this board stronger immediately? Sometimes that is a completed upgrade; sometimes it is a better front line or using an item you have been holding. Do not evaluate every purchase solely by whether it appears in an endgame composition.

Give rolling and leveling a purpose

Before spending gold, decide what outcome you need and what you will do if it does not appear. Blindly refreshing the shop until the bank is empty removes future choices without guaranteeing the current board improves.

Compare your remaining health, current strength and available options. A plan designed for a comfortable position may be inappropriate when you need immediate help.

Scout before the round starts

Look at likely opponents and identify where their main threats are positioned. Adjust your formation to protect a vulnerable unit or avoid placing everything in the same danger zone.

Change one important position rather than rearranging the whole board at the last second. Clear decisions are easier to learn from after the fight.

Learn one flexible direction

Choose a composition concept and understand which parts are essential and which can be replaced. Adapt to the units and items you actually receive instead of forcing a screenshot exactly.

Use the official TFT site and patch notes to confirm the active set and balance. This is an economy and positioning guide, not a permanent ranking of champions or a guarantee that one spending pattern wins every lobby.
