WoW Midnight Delves Guide: Season 2 Tiers, Loot, Coffer Keys

Quick summary

• Season 2 has 12 standard Delves across six zones. Venomfall Deeps is the separate Nemesis Delve for Azta'rec.

Start the season at Delver's Headquarters

1. Unlock Tier 4. Tiers 1–3 are open from the start.
2. Set up Valeera at the Delver's Guide, or from the Delver's Supplies inside a run. Her level cap is 80 this season, up from 60 in Season 1.
3. Climb the tiers. Clear the highest tier you have with at least one revive left to unlock the next.

At level 90 you can still run The War Within Delves with Brann, which scale to level 80. That's handy for old achievements.

• Defeating all nemesis packs in Tier 8+ gives five extra crests (Warcraft Wiki).
• Non-Bountiful Delves give 259 loot that isn't on an upgrade track.
• If you run out of revives, you lose the Bountiful Coffer and the tier unlock.

Example: your Delve Vault slot shows 302 because you ran Tier 7. One Tier 8 run raises that slot to 305 Hero 1. A Tier 9 run doesn't raise it further, so clear Tier 8 safely before you push.

Run Bountiful Delves with Coffer Keys

Bountiful Delves are the core gear loop. The key isn't an entry ticket:

1. Check the world map or the Delver's Guide for the glowing Bountiful icons.
2. Pick the highest tier you can finish with a revive left.
3. Clear the story, protect your last revive, and beat the boss.
4. Open the Bountiful Coffer with one Restored Coffer Key.
5. Move to the next Bountiful Delve while you still have keys.

• Coffer Key Shards are a currency now, so they don't take bag space. 100 shards = 1 key, and they can convert automatically when you enter a Delve.
• Shard earning is capped at 600 per week.
• Journey Rank 6 lets you buy two Restored Coffer Keys per week. Rank 10 increases shard drops.

Get the Trovehunter's Bounty map each week

The Trovehunter's Bounty map spawns a bonus chest in a Delve, worth one Hero-track item a week on Tier 8+. Warcraft Wiki lists three sources:

• Azta'rec invading a Delve
• A Heavy Chest at the end of a Bountiful Delve
• The weekly quest Purging the Vaults

If you still don't have one, buy the Scalebound Herald's Flute from Naleidea Rivergleam for 5,000 Undercoin and use it at a Delve's resurrection stone to force a spawn.

Use boons and blessings

Boons come from Mislaid Curiosities during a run and stack until it ends.

The blessings are Blessing of Zeal, Blessing of Potency, Crimson Blessing, Sentinel's Blessing, and Veiled Blessing.

Beat Azta'rec in Venomfall Deeps

• Main phase: aim Noxious Bile away from the space you need, dispel Void Toxin (magic), interrupt Soul Extinction, dodge Venom Storm, and use a defensive for Serpent's Strike if you're tanking.

Chase Delve achievements and cosmetics

Warcraft Wiki adds Midnight Delves: Tier 4 to Tier 11 (Season 2). The Tier 11 clear awards the High Explorer title.

• Telemancer Astrandis (Voidlight Marl): the Journey mount, decor, Effigy of Dundun, and the Delve-O-Bot chip.
• Naleidea Rivergleam (Undercoin): Coffer Key Glue, Scalebound Herald's Flute, and a Patagia appearance.

Returning, boosted, and alt players

• Returning for 12.1.5: unlock Tier 4, then use the ladder to reach Tier 8, which only takes clears with a revive left. Fill eight World row activities for three 305 Vault choices, and start the Labyrinth quest early so you don't miss a Wah'du week (Wowhead says missed requests can be caught up).
• Boosted characters: a boosted level 90 still needs the Warband's Midnight Delves: Endgame progress. Pick a Valeera role that covers your weakest skill while you learn the class, and stay on Tier 8 with five revives until you're comfortable.
• Alts: tier unlocks and Journey progress are Warband-wide. Alts can go straight to Tier 8 Bountiful runs for Champion gear and a Hero Vault slot. Spend keys where they gear your main first.

Fit Delves into your week

Delves count toward the World row of the Great Vault, which unlocks at 2, 4, and 8 activities. Run your eight highest-tier activities first so all three slots show your best item level.

1. Turn in the Primeval Arcane Remnant.
2. Use keys on Tier 8+ Bountiful Delves.
3. Fill the 2/4/8 Vault thresholds.
4. Push Tier 11 once Rank 4 makes it pay.
