TBC Anniversary Sha'tari Skyguard Rep Guide: Terokk and Nether Rays

Quick summary

• Unlock: at level 70 with flying, get Threat from Above from Yuula in Shattrath (about 64.2, 42.6), then go to Blackwind Landing in Terokkar (Wowhead).
• Unlimited farm: Shadow Dust gets you an Elixir of Shadows, the elixir lets you farm Time-Lost Scrolls, and the scrolls summon four bosses. Turning in their parts gets you a Time-Lost Offering to summon Terokk.
• Time: about 28 days with all four dailies; one Terokk cycle a day cuts that to about 14 (our arithmetic).
• Rewards: five Nether Ray mounts. You also need Artisan Riding (300).

The prisoner's cage moves between several raised platforms around the lake. Take each Aether Ray down to "roughly 40 percent health," then stop attacking before you use the rope. Bomb the cannonballs at Forge Camp: Wrath from low altitude, and keep moving.

Farm the Shadow Dust and Terokk cycle

1. Turn in 6 Shadow Dust to Severin (More Shadow Dust, 150 reputation) for an Elixir of Shadows.
2. Drink it in Skettis to see the Time-Lost Skettis arakkoa; they drop Time-Lost Scrolls.
3. 10 scrolls summon one of the four descendants (Darkscreecher Akkarai, Karrog, Gezzarak the Huntress, Vakkiz the Windrager) at its Skull Pile.
4. Their four drops combine into a Time-Lost Offering that summons Terokk.

Shadow Dust can be traded on the Auction House. Each dust is worth "effectively 25 reputation" (Wowhead). If you'd rather buy it, see our gold farming guide.

Pet kills: a Wowhead commenter (community data) reports that when "warlock pets kill the elites before my player deals any damage, 0 rep is awarded." Make sure you tag the summoned bosses yourself.

Beat Terokk

The player who used the offering has to stay close, or the summon resets. Clear nearby arakkoa first, since "enemy players can interfere after the zone-wide announcement."

1. Keep Terokk inside the summoning area.
2. Spread out to reduce Shadow Bolt Volley damage, but stay in healing range.
3. At about 20% health he becomes immune. Stop attacking and watch for the blue Skyguard flare.
4. Pull him into the marked spot so the Skyguard bomb breaks his shield.
5. Use your cooldowns while he's exposed, and repeat if the shield comes back.

Follow a daily route

1. Do Fires Over Skettis and Escape from Skettis at Blackwind Landing. Kill any arakkoa on the way, since each kill is rep and a chance at dust.
2. Fly to Blade's Edge for Bomb Them Again! and Wrangle More Aether Rays!.
3. Head back to Skettis and farm arakkoa "until enough Shadow Dust is available for several turn-ins."
4. Use each Elixir of Shadows to farm Time-Lost Scrolls, then run the descendants and Terokk "with a consistent group."

Plan your days to Exalted

Our arithmetic: 42,000 minus the 5,330 from one-time quests is 36,670. Kill rep from farming is not included.

Know the rewards

The Nether Rays come in Blue, Green, Purple, Red, and Silver. They all fly at 280% speed and need 300 Riding. Grella is at about 64.4, 66.2 (Wowhead).

Avoid these mistakes

• "Do not waste an Elixir of Shadows without farming Time-Lost enemies during its duration."
• "Do not summon a repeated descendant before confirming which quest token the group still needs."
• "Do not reach Exalted without preparing 300 Riding and at least 160 gold for the chosen mount."

Plan for alts and returning players

• Alts start over: rep is per character.
• Shadow Dust and scrolls: the dust can be traded (Wowhead), so a main can farm it while an alt does the turn-ins.
