That update lowered heroic key requirements to Honored and moved every heroic to its final, easier tuning (Warcraft Tavern), which makes the Coilfang heroic days below shorter than they were at launch.

On heroic every elite gives 15 rep and every boss 250 (Warcraft Tavern). Full clears earn several hundred more than boss-only runs, so pull the side packs. Where each Coilfang wing sits, and the level range for its normal mode, is in our TBC Anniversary dungeons guide.
Plan your route from where you are now
Fresh 70 who quested through Zangarmarsh
Leveling through Hellfire Peninsula and Zangarmarsh gives about 7,650 rep from quests (see the zone table below), so you're likely late Friendly or early Honored.
- Get to Honored with plant parts or one or two normal Slave Pens or Underbog runs. Don't touch your Uncatalogued Species yet.
- Buy the Reservoir Key at Honored. From here every heroic counts.
- Turn in all your Uncatalogued Species.
- Finish your open Cenarion quests, especially Blade's Edge (about 4,200 rep) and Terokkar's Cenarion Thicket chain.
- Unlock Coilfang Armaments: loot Orders from Lady Vashj from Steamvault trash, turn it in to Ysiel Windsinger, and do Preparing for War.
- Run the three Coilfang heroics once a day until Exalted.
Example: you hit 70 at 4,000/6,000 Friendly with 3 Uncatalogued Species in your bags and Blade's Edge untouched. That's 2,000 to Honored: 8 plant-part turn-ins or one or two normal runs. Then the species (1,500) and Blade's Edge (about 4,200) take you about halfway through Honored's 12,000. Two days of three heroics each finish Revered, and the third and fourth days take you most of the way to Exalted.
Still leveling (62–66)
Do every Zangarmarsh quest and run normal Slave Pens and Underbog while they're on level. Keep plant parts from mobs; turn them in only once you know you'll reach Honored before quests run out. Don't skip a whole zone of leveling quests just to save rep: the experience matters more than the few hundred points you'd bank. The zone order is in the TBC Anniversary leveling guide 1–70.
Alt on an account with a Revered character
Have the main buy the Communal Reservoir Pouch (80 gold at Revered, Anniversary realms only) and mail the key to the alt. The communal keys added in patch 2.5.6 are account-bound and usable by any character at Friendly with the faction, the same rule the Communal Time Pouch follows. For Cenarion Expedition, Friendly is the Hellfire Peninsula quests plus a few Zangarmarsh ones, or 12 plant-part turn-ins. Now that the regular key sells at Honored, check the vendor before you assume the pouch still needs Revered.
Gold-rich and time-poor
The Auction House route: buy 360 Unidentified Plant Parts for Neutral to Honored, then Coilfang Armaments for the rest. You still have to enter the Steamvault once to loot Orders from Lady Vashj and unlock the armament quest. The last turn-in still works at 5,999/6,000 Friendly. Each turn-in gives a Package of Identified Plants that can contain an Uncatalogued Species. They're soulbound and random: a lucky player gets 7 or 8 from 36 turn-ins, and many get fewer, so don't plan around a fixed number.

Armaments drop from trash in all three Coilfang dungeons, most often in the Steamvault, and they're tradeable.
Run the Revered-to-Exalted days

Heroics lock out once per dungeon per day, but normal Steamvault doesn't. At about 1,600–1,800 rep per clear, roughly 12–13 normal Steamvault runs would cover all of Revered on their own (our estimate from Warcraft Tavern's per-clear numbers). Use it to go faster than three days.
Pick up the daily dungeon quests in Lower City, Shattrath. When one targets Coilfang, it's free rep on a run you're doing anyway:

Example: you're Revered 2,000/21,000. You need 19,000. Three heroics (~7,800) plus the heroic daily (350) and 20 armaments from the runs (1,500) give about 9,650 per day, so two days gives about 19,300. You're Exalted at the end of day two (our estimate).
Get the most from each heroic clear
- Full-clear, including side rooms; on heroic every elite is 15 rep.
- Loot every Coilfang mob for armaments.
- Run with Humans if you're a Human: Diplomacy gives +10% rep. Over Revered (21,000) that's about 2,100 extra, roughly one heroic clear.
- Wear the Glyph of Ferocity once you're Revered; it's the reward melee and hunters need most.

Per-quest values are from Warcraft Tavern; zone totals are rounded sums and vary with the optional chains you take. Quest rep has no cap, so hold any quest you can delay until after Honored, when capped sources stop counting.
The Cenarion Refuge sits next to Sporeggar's territory, so Zangarmarsh questers often run both at once; the Sporeggar reputation guide covers the mushroom turn-ins. The hippogryph flies at the same 280% speed as other swift flying mounts and needs artisan riding, so it's a looks upgrade; riding costs are in the TBC Anniversary flying guide. In Zul'Aman's gear era, Earthwarden and Strength of the Untamed are mainly fresh-70 and alt pieces. Blacksmiths need the weightstone plan for the Blacksmithing leveling route.
If you're returning, boosted, or on an alt
- Returning after Phase 3: if you stopped at Honored waiting for the key, you can buy it now. Check your bags for Uncatalogued Species and Coilfang Armaments you saved.
- Boosted to 58 or 70: a boosted character starts at Neutral with no quest rep. Do the Hellfire and Zangarmarsh Cenarion quests anyway: they're about 7,650 rep and quick at 70. Our fresh 70 catch-up guide shows how this fits with other keys.
- Alts: use the Communal Reservoir Pouch and get the alt to Friendly. Only grind further if the alt wants the Glyph of Ferocity or Exalted rewards.
