OSRS Agility Guide 1-99 (2026): Fastest, Sepulchre and Rooftops
OSRS Agility guide 1-99 for 2026: quest skips, Brimhaven, the Wilderness course, new Sepulchre floor levels, rooftop rates, marks of grace and hours.

In this guide 12 sections
Quick summary
- Fastest route: quest to 26–33, then the Brimhaven Agility Arena to 47, the Wilderness Agility Course to 62, and the Hallowed Sepulchre to 99 (OSRS Wiki).
- Time: at the wiki's rates, levels 33 to 99 take about 148 hours on that route. Rooftops alone take about 210 hours (our arithmetic).
- New floor levels: since Jagex's August 12, 2026 update, Sepulchre Floor 4 needs level 77 (was 82) and Floor 5 needs level 87 (was 92). You can boost to enter a floor, and the Grand Coffin now needs 84 Thieving or 92 Agility.
- Lower-effort options: rooftops (66,000–70,000 XP per hour at Ardougne), the Prifddinas course and the Colossal Wyrm course. The Wyrm course is now longer per lap for roughly the same XP per hour (Jagex).
- Coming in November: The Graveyard quest unlocks a hybrid 65–80 course. Jagex's preview rates are 55,000–75,000 XP per hour and 30+ marks of grace per hour at high intensity.
This OSRS Agility guide covers members' Agility from 1 to 99 as the game stands after Jagex's Summer Sweep Up Agility update of 12 August 2026. XP and marks-per-hour rates come from the OSRS Wiki's Agility training page, with Theoatrix and OSRS Toolkit for comparison; hours per segment are our arithmetic on the standard XP table. Rates assume practice, so expect less while you learn, especially in the Sepulchre. It's about Old School RuneScape, not RuneScape 3.
Understand why Agility matters
Agility speeds up how fast your run energy regenerates. Theoatrix's 2026 guide says run energy regenerates nearly twice as fast at level 99 as at level 1. Jagex has also slowed run drain at every level, so you rely less on graceful early on.
Agility also unlocks shortcuts. The August 12 update alone added eight new shortcuts at levels 49–83. It also made six grapple shortcuts usable barehanded at higher levels (Jagex). A full graceful outfit adds 30% to natural run energy restoration, 20% from the pieces and 10% from the set bonus (OSRS Wiki).
A few goals depend on it:
- Ironmen need Agility to make stamina potions. Amylase only comes from marks of grace.
- Song of the Elves, a quest cape requirement, needs level 70 (Theoatrix).
- The achievement diary cape needs level 90, for an Ardougne rooftop lap. You can boost to it from 85 with a summer pie (Theoatrix).
Follow the fastest 1-99 route
| Levels | Method | XP per hour (OSRS Wiki) | Hours (our arithmetic) | Key requirement |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1–26 | The Tourist Trap (use the XP lamp on Agility twice) | Quest reward | Quest time | Some combat |
| 26–33 | Recruitment Drive, The Depths of Despair, The Grand Tree | 19,700 XP total for all four quests | Quest time | Low requirements |
| 33–47 | Brimhaven Agility Arena (tag pillars, plus floor spikes in downtime) | 45,000–50,000 at 40+ | About 1.4 | 200 coins entry; level 40 passes every obstacle |
| 47–62 | Wilderness Agility Course | 50,000–60,000 | About 4.7 | 52 to enter (boostable from 47); 49 for the pipe |
| 62–72 | Hallowed Sepulchre, Floors 1–2 | 56,300 | About 10.0 | Sins of the Father |
| 72–77 | Sepulchre, Floors 1–3 | 68,900 | About 8.4 | Floor 3 at 72 |
| 77–87 | Sepulchre, Floors 1–4 | 79,700 | About 31.3 | Floor 4 at 77 (boostable) |
| 87–99 | Sepulchre, Floors 1–5 | 98,500 with the Grand Coffin | About 92.0 | Floor 5 at 87 (boostable) |
The route's hours come to about 148 from level 33. RuneTools, which builds its route from the same wiki rates, estimates 144 hours. The small gap comes from where each of us starts Brimhaven.
Two notes on the route:
- Levels 1–20 without quests: the Draynor rooftop no longer has a level 10 requirement. It, the Gnome Stronghold course and the basic Shayzien course all give about 10,000 XP per hour from level 1 (Theoatrix).
- Floor spikes early: at Brimhaven, the floor spike trap needs level 20, or 15 with a summer pie. It gives about 30,000 XP per hour, which beats every rooftop at that level, and the wiki puts a low-effort version at about 36,000 per hour once you're higher.
Boost your Agility level
Boosts let you start a course, Sepulchre floor or shortcut early, and since August they also work for Sepulchre floor entry (OSRS Wiki):
| Boost | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Summer pie | +5 per bite | Also heals 11 per bite and restores 10% run energy |
| Agility potion | +3 | Four doses |
| Agility mix | +3 | Barbarian Herblore version with caviar; also heals 6 |
Example: a level 72 player clears Floor 3 of the Sepulchre, eats a summer pie at the stairs and enters Floor 4 as a boosted 77. Don't boost onto a rooftop you can't keep: if the boost runs out mid-lap, you fall off.
Use the new Hallowed Sepulchre levels
Jagex's August 12, 2026 Summer Sweep-Up changed the Sepulchre more than anything else since it launched.
| Change | Before | Now (Jagex, Aug 12, 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Floor 4 entry | 82 | 77 |
| Floor 5 entry | 92 | 87 |
| Boosting for floor entry | Not allowed | Allowed; for example, a 72 can eat a summer pie at the end of Floor 3 to enter Floor 4 |
| Grand Coffin (Floor 5) | Higher of the old requirements | 84 Thieving or 92 Agility, both boostable |
Jagex's stated aim was to cut "the time spent running the 'comfortable' floors." Many players found 72 to 82 "a bit of a slog," because Floor 3 gets mundane.
The OSRS Wiki's floor table, with practice and a private instance:
| Floor | Agility level | Floor XP | XP per hour (Grand Coffin) | XP per hour (looting Floors 4–5) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 52 | 575 | 45,000 | n/a |
| 2 | 62 | 925 | 56,300 | n/a |
| 3 | 72 | 1,600 | 68,900 | n/a |
| 4 | 77 | 2,875 | 79,700 | 75,000 |
| 5 | 87 | 5,725 | 98,500 | 85,800 |
How to get the most from it:
- Requirements: complete Sins of the Father. Coffin obstacles need up to 66 Thieving, 56 Construction, 54 Prayer, 7 Magic and 62 Ranged (OSRS Wiki).
- What to bring: a Saradomin item, so the pillars at the end of each floor restore your run energy. Also bring a mithril grapple and crossbow, stamina potions and food (Theoatrix).
- Private instance: buy one for 200 Hallowed marks. Traps then always run on the same rotation, which raises long-term rates.
- Shop order: Hallowed Grapple, Focus, Hammer, then Symbol. If you mostly want fewer deaths, the Hallowed Ring removes trap damage (Theoatrix).
- Top rates: the wiki puts the maximum at about 102,000–105,000 XP per hour with the Grand Coffin, or 105,000–108,000 without it.
Compare rooftops and low-effort courses
If you don't want to Sepulchre, rooftops are the steady route. Use a summer pie to start the next course early. Theoatrix suggests waiting until you're 3 levels short, because if the boost runs out mid-lap you fall off the course.
| Levels | Course | XP per hour (OSRS Wiki) | Marks of grace per hour | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1–20 | Draynor | 9,000–10,000 | 11.0–12.4 | No level requirement |
| 20–30 | Al Kharid | 11,000–12,000 | 10.4–11.4 | |
| 30–40 | Varrock | 11,000–14,000 | 8.4–10.8 | |
| 40–50 | Canifis | 14,000–17,000 | 12.8–15.5 | Mark rate never drops |
| 50–60 | Falador | 29,000–34,000 | 9.7–11.3 | |
| 60–70 | Seers' Village | 50,000–56,000 with the Kandarin hard diary teleport | 14.3–16.0 (hard diary) | 40,000–44,000 without the teleport |
| 70–80 | Pollnivneach | 53,000–58,000 (Desert hard diary) | 16–18 | 47,000–51,000 without the diary |
| 80–90 | Rellekka | 59,000–63,000 (Fremennik hard diary) | 16–19.5 | 50,000–53,000 without the diary |
| 90–99 | Ardougne | 66,000–70,000 | 20.9–22.1 (Ardougne elite diary) | Marks stack on one tile |
Our arithmetic: rooftops from 33 to 99 at the wiki's midpoint rates take about 210 hours. Theoatrix estimates about 230 hours for 1–99 doing the best rooftop available.
Other courses worth knowing:
| Course | Levels | XP per hour | Why use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prifddinas | 75+ | About 60,000, rising to 65,000 at 90 | Low effort; about 48.5 crystal shards per hour; needs Song of the Elves |
| Colossal Wyrm, advanced | 62+ | Up to 42,000 | Lower effort since August: about 40% longer laps for the same XP per hour (Jagex) |
| Werewolf | 60–90 | 50,000–68,000 | 10–15 marks per hour; needs Creature of Fenkenstrain and a Ring of Charos |
| Ape Atoll | 48+ | 30,000–55,000 | No more failed obstacles from 75; needs a ninja or Kruk greegree |
| Agility Pyramid | 30+ | 25,000–44,000 | Each pyramid top is worth 10,000 coins from Simon Templeton |
| Brimhaven at 99 | 40–99 | Up to 67,000 | +10% ticket XP with Karamja gloves 2 or better |
Plan your marks of grace
A full graceful set costs 260 marks of grace (Jagex, Graveyard blog). Theoatrix says most players finish the set somewhere between 55 and 65 Agility.
- The 20-level rule: once your unboosted level is 20 or more above a rooftop's requirement, its mark spawn rate falls to 20% of normal. Canifis is the exception (OSRS Wiki, citing Mod Ash). At level 80, Seers' Village drops to the reduced rate.
- Best mark courses by level: Canifis until you have the Kandarin hard diary or reach 80, then the diary-boosted courses (Theoatrix). The advanced Wyrm course gives 17–18 marks per hour through Amylase packs (OSRS Wiki).
- Ardougne trick: marks there stack on one tile, and each new mark resets the 10-minute despawn timer. You don't have to pick them up every lap.
- Teleport timing: if you use the Vampyrium Rockslide shortcut from level 78, teleport out right after a mark spawns. The 3-minute mark cooldown then keeps ticking while you're away.
- Rockslide alongside other skills: after The Blood Moon Rises, the Vampyrium Rockslide shortcut gives 550 XP about every 7.5 minutes. Running it between other activities adds about 3,500–4,000 Agility XP an hour (OSRS Wiki).
- Graceful as an unlock: in the Graveyard blog, Jagex proposed making graceful pieces a one-time unlock, with duplicates bought for coins from Grace. Treat this as a proposal until it ships.
Prepare for the Graveyard course
The OSRS Wiki's quest page lists The Graveyard, a Master-level Fremennik quest that follows Olaf's Quest, for November 2026. Its listed requirements are 65 Agility, 65 Sailing, 56 Woodcutting and 54 Fletching, plus The Fremennik Exiles, Olaf's Quest and Pandemonium. The new course it unlocks is aimed at levels 65–80. Jagex's preview rates:
| Intensity | XP per hour | Marks per hour | What it plays like |
|---|---|---|---|
| High | 65,000–75,000 | 30+ | Close to Ardougne rooftops and "just below Hallowed Sepulchre Floor 4" |
| Low | 55,000–60,000 | 14–15 | About two thirds rooftop-style; the rest offers one-click sections of about 20–30 seconds |
Jagex later added that the high-intensity rates "assume tick-perfect gameplay," so most players will see less. Ardougne will still give more marks than the Graveyard's low-intensity option. Once it releases, it should replace Seers' and Pollnivneach for most 65–80 players who don't use the Sepulchre. If you want it on release, start on 65 Sailing and 54 Fletching now; our Sailing guide and Fletching guide cover both.
Choose your route by playstyle
| Route | Hours 33–99 (our arithmetic) | Effort | Earns money? | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brimhaven, then Wilderness, then Sepulchre | About 148 | High from 62 | Yes; Sepulchre coffins and the Wilderness lap loot | Players chasing the fastest XP |
| Rooftops only | About 210 | Low | Marks of grace and amylase | Players doing alchs or watching other content |
| Rooftops to 75, then Prifddinas | Between the two | Low | Crystal shards | Players who've finished Song of the Elves |
| Graveyard for 65–80 (from November) | Unknown until release | You choose | Marks of grace | Players who want 30+ marks per hour |
Plan for alts and returning players
- Returning players: if you quit before August 2026, you can enter Floor 4 five levels earlier and Floor 5 five levels earlier than before. The six grapple shortcuts now work barehanded at 48, 52, 68, 69, 72 and 78, though diary tasks still need the grapple (Jagex). Marks have dropped on non-rooftop courses since May 8, 2024 (OSRS Wiki).
- Ironmen and alts: use quests to reach 33. Barbarian Fishing gives passive Agility, so fishing from 58 to 99 that way takes Agility from 30 to 74. Do it before you grind Agility directly. Ironmen also need amylase from marks of grace for stamina potions; our Herblore guide covers them.
- Thieving overlap: the Sepulchre's coffins and the Grand Coffin need Thieving (up to 84 for the Grand Coffin route at 87 Agility), so train it alongside if you want the loot. The money making guide puts Sepulchre profit in context.
- New Sepulchre players: Theoatrix calls the Sepulchre far more demanding than other methods and suggests the Hallowed Ring for less experienced players, because it removes trap damage.
Agility feeds almost every other skill and boss; the OSRS hub collects the rest of our guides.
