Midnight Mythic+ Healer and Tank Tier List: Season 2, 12.1.5
Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ healer and tank tier list for 12.1.5: all 13 specs ranked by top-key data from Oct 28, plus poison dispels, utility and pairings.

In this guide 14 sections
This Midnight Mythic+ healer and tank tier list ranks all seven healers and six tanks for Season 2 on patch 12.1.5. It doesn't copy anyone else's tier letters. Each spec is placed by two pieces of public data from October 28, 2026: how often it appears in the world's top 2,000 timed keys, and how high its best players score. Below the tiers you'll find the utility and dispel tables that decide which healer and tank fit your group.
Quick summary
- Best Mythic+ healer: Holy Paladin. It healed 85.7% of the top 2,000 timed keys on Raider.IO and has the highest top-player score on Murlok.
- Best Mythic+ tanks: Blood Death Knight and Guardian Druid. Blood tanked 78.1% of the top 2,000 keys, and Guardian has the highest top-player score.
- Restoration Shaman is the clear second healer, second on both measures.
- Poison dispels matter this season. Wowhead says poisons show up in over half the dungeon pool, and Priests can't dispel them.
- The top end is narrow. Every spec below S still times keys well into the teens. The tier tells you what the very best groups bring, not what you need for a +12.
How this tier list is ranked
- Top-key share: how often each spec appears in Raider.IO's top 2,000 timed runs worldwide for Season 2 (all +23 and +24 keys, completed up to October 28).
- Top-player score: Murlok.io's Mythic+ ranking, which scores each spec by its best active players' Mythic+ ratings in the US, EU, KR and TW regions (read October 28).
- Tier: the average of the spec's rank on both lists. Healers: S is 1.5 or better, A is up to 2.5, B is up to 4.5, C is above that. Tanks: S is 1.5 or better, A is up to 3, B is up to 5, C is above that.
- Tiebreaks and notes: whether the spec has a poison dispel, and any Blizzard tuning since the data was collected.
Both data sets describe the very top of the ladder. A spec with a low share there can still be a great choice for your key level. That's why the utility and pairing sections below matter as much as the letter.
Midnight Mythic+ healer tier list
| Healer | Tier | Top 2,000 keys | Murlok score | Poison dispel |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Holy Paladin | S | 85.7% (1st) | 4,199 (1st) | Yes, with Improved Cleanse |
| Restoration Shaman | A | 11.2% (2nd) | 4,149 (2nd) | Yes, Poison Cleansing Totem |
| Mistweaver Monk | B | 2.2% (3rd) | 3,969 (4th) | Yes, Detox |
| Holy Priest | B | 0.2% (6th) | 3,987 (3rd) | No |
| Preservation Evoker | C | 0.2% (5th) | 3,905 (5th) | Yes, Expunge |
| Discipline Priest | C | 0.5% (4th) | 3,879 (7th) | No |
| Restoration Druid | C | 0% (7th) | 3,889 (6th) | Yes, Remove Corruption |
Top-key share is the share of the 2,000 runs that had that healer. Raider.IO returned 4 Preservation and 3 Holy Priest runs, so their shares round to 0.2% and 0.1%.
Restoration Druid may not stay in C. On October 27 Blizzard buffed Verdancy healing by 60%, Regrowth by 10% and Improved Swiftmend to 40%. Blizzard's note says the changes target dungeons, where Resto Druid is "behind other healers," while it performs well in raids (Icy Veins hotfix summary). None of that is in the October 28 data yet.
Midnight Mythic+ tank tier list
| Tank | Tier | Top 2,000 keys | Murlok score | Poison dispel |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blood Death Knight | S | 78.1% (1st) | 4,163 (2nd) | No |
| Guardian Druid | S | 18.1% (2nd) | 4,188 (1st) | Remove Corruption (optional talent) |
| Brewmaster Monk | A | 2.1% (3rd) | 3,990 (3rd) | Detox (optional talent) |
| Protection Paladin | B | 0.2% (5th) | 3,985 (4th) | Cleanse Toxins (optional talent) |
| Protection Warrior | B | 1.5% (4th) | 3,909 (6th) | No |
| Vengeance Demon Hunter | C | 0.1% (6th) | 3,943 (5th) | No |
The tank scores are close: only 279 points separate first and last on Murlok. The top-key share is where Blood and Guardian pull away.
Why each healer ranks where it does
Holy Paladin (S)
Holy Paladin heals almost every top key this season. Wowhead credits the Season 2 tier set, which makes Holy Light guarantee an Infusion of Light proc for a big Flash of Light, and says Shield of the Righteous returns mana in downtime. It also handles this pool's poisons and bleeds, and Blessing of Freedom helps in King's Rest's snare-heavy hallway (Wowhead). Our Holy Paladin guide covers the build and the Lightsmith vs Herald of the Sun choice.
Restoration Shaman (A)
Second on both lists and the only other healer with a real share of top keys. It brings Poison Cleansing Totem, Skyfury, Wind Shear (the only healer kick, per Wowhead), Capacitor Totem and Bloodlust. Icy Veins describes its healing as very strong but its damage as among the lowest of any healer. See our Restoration Shaman guide.
Mistweaver Monk (B)
Third in top-key share and fourth by score. Mistweaver adds 5% physical damage taken through Mystic Touch, so it fits melee-heavy groups (Icy Veins). On October 27 Blizzard also fixed a bug where Mistline sometimes didn't heal the lowest-health target.
Holy Priest (B)
Third by top-player score but rare in the top keys. Wowhead points to Power Infusion, Mass Dispel and Mind Soothe skips in Murder Row, along with limited interrupts and weaker survivability. It has no poison dispel.
Preservation Evoker (C)
Mid-table on both lists. Wowhead praises its burst healing and its dispels, Expunge for poison and Cauterizing Flame for bleeds, but says it needs more setup than other healers.
Discipline Priest (C)
Fourth in top-key share but last by score. Icy Veins notes its single-target damage is often well above other healers', but it can't remove poisons, which Wowhead flags as its main problem this season.
Restoration Druid (C)
No Resto Druid appears in the top 2,000 keys, and Blizzard itself says it's behind in dungeons. It has both Curse and Poison dispels, and the October 27 buffs target exactly its dungeon weakness. Recheck it next week.
Why each tank ranks where it does
Blood Death Knight (S)
Blood tanks nearly four of every five top keys. Wowhead says it's "currently dominating the leaderboard" after buffs and a fix to Dance of Midnight, and values Death Grip in this pool. Icy Veins notes it's the only tank without a unique party-wide buff. Our Blood Death Knight guide covers San'layn and the defensive plan.
Guardian Druid (S)
The highest top-player score of any tank and the second-largest share of top keys. It brings Mark of the Wild, Soothe and an optional poison dispel, which Wowhead calls "extremely strong" this season. Wowhead also calls it "easier to play" than the other top tanks.
Brewmaster Monk (A)
Third on both lists. It fits physical groups because of Mystic Touch. Wowhead says it lost a strong Season 1 tier set and needs more outside healing.
Protection Paladin (B)
Fourth by score but almost absent from top keys. Wowhead says it can solo-interrupt and helps the group survive, which makes it strong in lower keys.
Protection Warrior (B)
Fourth in top-key share and last by score. Battle Shout makes it a natural fit with physical damage dealers (Icy Veins).
Vengeance Demon Hunter (C)
Fifth by score with one top-key appearance. Wowhead credits it with the highest damage among tanks through Chaos Brand, but says Metamorphosis uptime from Voidfall procs is inconsistent.
Compare each tank's utility
Icy Veins lists the core and optional group tools for each tank. This is often what separates tanks that perform about the same.
| Tank | Group buff | Core tools | Poison dispel | Key optional tools |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blood Death Knight | None unique | Anti-Magic Zone, Death Grip, Raise Ally (combat res) | No | Gorefiend's Grasp (mass grip), Blinding Sleet, Asphyxiate |
| Guardian Druid | Mark of the Wild (3% Versatility) | Soothe (Enrage dispel) | Remove Corruption (optional) | Innervate, Stampeding Roar, Incapacitating Roar, Mass Entanglement or Ursol's Vortex |
| Vengeance Demon Hunter | Chaos Brand (3% extra magic damage) | Sigil of Silence, Sigil of Misery, Chaos Nova | No | Sigil of Chains, Darkness, Imprison, Consume Magic |
| Brewmaster Monk | Mystic Touch (5% extra physical damage) | Leg Sweep | Detox (optional) | Ring of Peace, Tiger's Lust, Paralysis |
| Protection Paladin | Devotion Aura (3% damage reduction) | Avenger's Shield (extra interrupt with silence), Lay on Hands, Intercession (combat res), Hammer of Justice | Cleanse Toxins (optional) | Blessing of Spellwarding, Sacrifice, Protection and Freedom, Turn Evil |
| Protection Warrior | Battle Shout (5% attack power) | Rallying Cry, Shockwave, Storm Bolt, Intimidating Shout | No | Champion's Spear, Piercing Howl, Berserker Shout, Spell Reflection |
Paired with a Priest healer, a Guardian, Brewmaster or Protection Paladin tank can cover poison dispels. Blood DK, Vengeance and Protection Warrior can't, so pair them with a Paladin, Shaman, Druid, Monk or Evoker healer in poison-heavy keys.
Example. A Blood DK tank and a Discipline Priest queue together. Neither has a poison dispel, according to Icy Veins' tables and Wowhead. They should invite a DPS who can dispel poison, or swap the Priest for a Holy Paladin or Resto Shaman for poison-heavy dungeons.
Cover poison and other dispels
Wowhead says over half the Season 2 pool has poisons and that bleeds show up in King's Rest and Blinding Vale.
| Healer | Poison dispel | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Holy Paladin | Cleanse (Magic; Poison and Disease with the Improved Cleanse talent) | Wowhead spell page; Icy Veins Holy Paladin spell list (12.1.5) |
| Restoration Shaman | Poison Cleansing Totem | Icy Veins, Wowhead |
| Restoration Druid | Remove Corruption (Curse and Poison) | Icy Veins |
| Mistweaver Monk | Detox (Poison and Disease) | Icy Veins |
| Preservation Evoker | Expunge, plus Cauterizing Flame for bleeds | Icy Veins, Wowhead |
| Holy and Discipline Priest | None | Wowhead |
Example. A Holy Priest leads a +10 in a poison-heavy dungeon. A Guardian Druid tank can cover poison, so the group still has a dispel. Our Season 2 Mythic+ dungeon guide and the per-dungeon guides for King's Rest and The Blinding Vale show which pulls need it.
Pair healers and tanks
| Group style | Tank | Healer | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| High-key push | Blood DK or Guardian | Holy Paladin or Resto Shaman | The two most common pairings in the top 2,000 keys |
| Physical damage | Brewmaster | Mistweaver or Resto Shaman | Mystic Touch and Skyfury (Icy Veins, Wowhead) |
| Pick-up group | Guardian or Protection Paladin | Resto Shaman or Holy Paladin | Wowhead calls Guardian and Shaman easier, and Paladin strong at lower keys |
| Caster damage | Vengeance | Holy Paladin | Chaos Brand boosts magic damage (Wowhead) |
Best healer and tank for beginners in Mythic+
This is a decision aid, not a ranking:
- Easiest healer to start with: Restoration Shaman. Wowhead calls it "one of the easiest Healers to play," and it's the second-best healer in this list. Holy Paladin is stronger but has more to manage.
- Easiest tank to start with: Guardian Druid. Wowhead calls it "easier to play" than the other top tanks, and it's S tier here.
- Hardest to master: Blood DK's San'layn build, which Icy Veins says needs a "notoriously harder pull set-up," and Preservation Evoker, which Wowhead says needs more setup than other healers.
- Solo queue players: pick a spec with its own poison dispel (any healer except a Priest, or a Guardian or Brewmaster tank), so you don't depend on the group comp.
Boosted, returning and alt players
- Returning players should know that Season 1 favorites changed. Wowhead says Mistweaver and Guardian were nerfed and Blood DK was buffed.
- Boosted or fresh max-level characters can start in easier keys with any spec. Our first key checklist covers what to prepare, and the Great Vault guide shows how many keys fill your weekly slots.
- Alts do well with easier specs: Resto Shaman and Guardian. Practice interrupts with our interrupt coordination guide.

FAQ
What is the best healer for Mythic+ in Midnight Season 2? Holy Paladin. It healed 85.7% of the world's top 2,000 timed keys on October 28 and has the highest top-player score on Murlok. Restoration Shaman is second on both.
What is the best tank for Mythic+ in Season 2? Blood Death Knight and Guardian Druid. Blood tanked 78.1% of the top 2,000 keys, and Guardian has the highest top-player score.
