In this guide 14 sections
Hallow's End 2026 is World of Warcraft's Halloween event, and this year it adds Quel'Thalas candy buckets and a full set of player-housing neighborhood activities to the usual Headless Horseman chase. This Hallow's End 2026 guide covers the dates, the Horseman's loot rules and hard mode, the neighborhood dailies, where to spend Tricky Treats and every achievement. Blizzard's Hallow's End 2026 announcement is the primary source, with drop rules from Wowhead's event guide.
Quick summary
- When does Hallow's End end? The event runs October 19 to November 2, 2026 (Blizzard). From October 28 that leaves six daily Horseman kills, counting the last day.
- Kill the Headless Horseman once a day on every character from level 10 to 90. You queue for him in the Dungeon Finder. Your first kill each day gives a Loot-Filled Pumpkin with a chance at two flying mounts and a guaranteed piece of a nine-piece transmog set you don't own yet (Blizzard).
- New this year: Midnight Candy Buckets in Quel'Thalas, plus a full set of neighborhood activities in player housing.
- Tricky Treats are the currency. You spend them at the Wickerman vendors outside Stormwind and Undercity, and at the new neighborhood vendors (Wowhead).
- The mount and charger drop chances are account-wide. The Ghoulish Charger can only drop on your first kill of the day per account (Wowhead, Icy Veins). Alts still get per-character loot.

How to get the Headless Horseman mount
Queue for "The Headless Horseman" in the Dungeon Finder (characters level 10–90, once a day per character for the loot). You'll land in the Scarlet Monastery Graveyard. Run to the far end and click the pumpkin to summon him (Wowhead).
| Reward | Who can get it | Rule | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Loot-Filled Pumpkin | Level 60+ characters, first kill each day | Once per character per day | Wowhead |
| Loot-Stuffed Pumpkin | Level 59 and below | Masks, Tricky Treats, Hallowed Helm, Sinister Squashling, Magic Broom | Wowhead |
| The Horseman's Reins (classic mount) | Loot-Filled Pumpkin | Higher chance on your first kill of the day account-wide; a very small chance after that | Wowhead |
| Headless Horseman's Ghoulish Charger | Loot-Filled Pumpkin | First kill of the day per account only; the chance rises each day you kill him | Wowhead, Icy Veins |
| Windborne Velocidrake: Hallow's End Armor | Loot-Filled Pumpkin | First kill of the day per account only | Wowhead |
| Arfus (pet) | Loot-Filled Pumpkin | First kill of the day per account only | Wowhead |
| Ghoulish Collection pieces | First daily kill | One guaranteed piece a day, no duplicates, 9 pieces | Blizzard |
| Epic rings | Level 10+ | A chance per kill; item level changes each year | Wowhead |
The nine set pieces are the Helm, Grips, Cinch, Cowl, Treads, Breastplate, Cloak, Greaves and Mantle (Blizzard). Because each daily kill guarantees one piece you don't have, nine days of kills complete the set. That's our math from Blizzard's "no duplicates" wording.
Headless Horseman hard mode
Five Wicker Men stand on your left as you enter the Graveyard. Each of the four small ones gives a curse, and the big one in the middle gives all four (Wowhead).
| Point | Detail | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Curses | Ember Curse, Cursed Hot Head, Shadow Curse, Thorny Surprise | Wowhead |
| Personal | Curses affect only you, not your group | Wowhead |
| Payoff | A higher Horseman mount chance on your first kill of the day, scaling with the number of curses | Wowhead |
| Achievement | Kickin' With the Wick, for finishing with all four curses | Wowhead |
| Failure | The Wicker Men save you from dying, but you lose the curses and the bonus | Wowhead |
Turn on all four curses on your main for the account-wide first kill. On alts, skip hard mode unless you want the achievement.
Hallow's End neighborhood activities
Each neighborhood gets a random theme at the start of the event: Duskwood, Felwood or Drustvar (Blizzard). Pick up "A Haunted Home" from a Holiday Enthusiast. It sends you to Yin Shuilan at your neighborhood's Holiday Hub (Wowhead).
| Activity | What you do | Reward | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Community Candy Crawl | For 15 minutes every hour, buckets appear outside occupied plots in Founder's Point and Razorwind Shores. Collect 10 Neighborhood Candy. | XP, 2 Tricky Treats, 3 Neighborhood Candy | Blizzard |
| Trick-or-Treating daily | Clean up Discarded Wrappers | Fills the Contribution bar | Blizzard |
| Ghost Busting daily | Catch ghosts and fill the Ghost Tank; it summons a Shade of Seabreaker Skoloth | A chest of Tricky Treats and candy | Blizzard |
| Spider webs | Use a Webspinner Egg Sac and spin up to 10 webs as a spider for 3 minutes (15-minute cooldown) | Contribution | Blizzard |
| Wickerman Piñata | Do the hub daily, add 10 candies, then whack it for one minute | Neighborhood Candy | Blizzard |
| Tricky Treat Traders | Trade Neighborhood Candy for Tricky Treats | Rates differ by neighborhood and change daily | Blizzard |
Check the trader's rate in a few neighborhoods before you trade. Blizzard tells you to shop around. Our housing guide covers neighborhoods and house level. Wowhead notes the Candy Crawl also gives House XP.
Midnight Candy Buckets
Each Candy Bucket is a one-time quest that pays gold, XP and a Handful of Treats (Wowhead). For Tricks and Treats of Midnight, Wowhead lists 16 Midnight bucket locations: Arcantina, Silvermoon, Fairbreeze Village, Tranquillien, Amani'Zar, Camp Stonewash, Witherbark Bluffs, Har'alnor, Har'athir, Har'kuai, Har'mara, The Den, Locus Point, The Ingress, and Slayer's Rise (separate Alliance and Horde buckets).
Wowhead credits community member Rosemansion222 for compiling the list, so treat it as community data and use Wowhead's waypoints to route them. Older continents keep their own Tricks and Treats achievements. Some updated zones need Zidormi to show the old buckets.
Leveling tip: buckets give XP, and the Wickerman bonfires outside Stormwind and Undercity give a 10% XP and reputation buff for 2 hours. Pair them with our 80–90 leveling guide and, for faction grinds, the Midnight Renown guide.
Hallow's End vendors: where to spend Tricky Treats
| Vendor (Horde / Alliance) | Sells | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Chub / Dorothy | Candy and toys | Wowhead |
| Darla / Stymie | Hallowed Wands | Wowhead |
| Farina / Spanky | Masks | Wowhead |
| Woim / Pippi | Pets | Wowhead |
| Spew Gutsout / Cordula Wolfgang (neighborhoods) | Seasonal decor and recipes for Tricky Treats | Wowhead |
| Jolli Maxiboom / Holly Twinklebright | Permanent decor for gold | Blizzard, Wowhead |
Blizzard lists three vendor weapons at 100 Tricky Treats each: The Horseman's Ghoulish Great Blade, Ghoulish Blade and Ghoulish Bulwark. The Patched Harvest Golem set, which used to drop from the Horseman, is now on the vendor too. Wowhead adds that Tricky Treats are bag items and edible. Don't eat the ones you plan to spend.
Other Hallow's End events and quests
| Event | Where | Reward | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shade of the Horseman fires | Goldshire, Kharanos, Azure Watch (Alliance); Razor Hill, Brill, Falconwing Square (Horde) | Gold and a Crudely Wrapped Gift, every half hour | Wowhead |
| The Crooked Tree | Legion Dalaran to Val'sharah, level 40+ | Daily Hag's Belongings: 4–6 Tricky Treats and a chance at a hat | Wowhead |

A daily Hallow's End routine
| Step | Our time estimate | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Headless Horseman on your main, hard mode | 10–15 minutes | The account-wide mount roll |
| Neighborhood dailies and piñata | 15 minutes | Tricky Treats and decor |
| Candy Crawl, if it lines up with the hour | 15 minutes | Treats and House XP |
| Horseman on each alt | About 5–10 minutes each, plus the queue | One set piece per character |
| Candy Buckets on leveling alts | As you level | XP and achievements |
These times are our estimates, not sourced figures. Fold the routine into your weekly checklist until the event ends.
Example: with six days left on October 28, a player with no set pieces can't finish the nine-piece Ghoulish Collection on one character this year. Running the Horseman on two characters doesn't help either, since pieces are per character. Prioritize the account-wide mount roll on the main each day, then use alts for rings and their own set pieces.
Hallow's End achievements
The meta achievement is Hallowed Be Thy Name, which awards the title "the Hallowed". It requires these (Wowhead):
| Achievement | What to do |
|---|---|
| Trick or Treat! | Loot one Candy Bucket |
| Out With It | Eat Tricky Treats until you get Upset Tummy |
| Bring Me The Head of... Oh Wait | Kill the Headless Horseman |
| The Savior of Hallow's End | Win one village fire event |
| That Sparkling Smile | Use a Tooth Pick |
| Rotten Hallow | Finish your faction's four prank quests |
| G.N.E.R.D. Rage | Get 10 honorable kills with the G.N.E.R.D.S. buff |
| Check Your Head | Put pumpkin heads on 12 listed races |
| The Masquerade | Get transformed by 7 listed wands (the Random wand doesn't count) |
| Sinister Calling | Own the Sinister Squashling and the Hallowed Helm |
| Tricks and Treats of Azeroth | Finish the Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms and Outland bucket achievements |
The ten new 2026 achievements aren't part of the meta: Tricks and Treats of Midnight, Sweet Tooth and its three neighborhood candy achievements, A Frightening Friend (Scarecrow Pepe decor) and I Ain't Afraid of No Ghost, among others (Blizzard). The decor rewards tie into the housing guide.
Tips for alts and returning players
- Alts: the mount, charger, Velocidrake armor and Arfus rolls are first-kill-of-the-day per account (Wowhead). Kill the Horseman on your main first, with hard mode on. Alts still get their own pumpkins, set pieces and rings.
- Low-level alts: below 60 they get the Loot-Stuffed Pumpkin, which can contain the Hallowed Helm and Sinister Squashling for Sinister Calling.
- Returning players: the Hallowed Helm can only be transmogged during Hallow's End. Scarecrow Pepe is now a decor reward, and if you already earned A Frightening Friend it's added automatically.
- Mount collectors: the Horseman is one of several limited mount chases this autumn. The October Trading Post guide and the Sporebearer Fungal Strider guide cover the others, and legacy raid mount farming fills the rest of the week.

FAQ
When does Hallow's End 2026 end?
On November 2, 2026. It started on October 19 (Blizzard). WoWDB lists the end at 11:00 AM server time, so plan your last Horseman kill before then.
How do you get the Headless Horseman mount?
Kill him daily through the Dungeon Finder. The Horseman's Reins and the Ghoulish Charger come from the Loot-Filled Pumpkin, and the best chance is your first kill of the day per account, ideally with all four hard-mode curses (Wowhead).
Does killing the Headless Horseman on alts help with the mount?
Not much. The Charger only drops on the first kill of the day per account (Wowhead, Icy Veins), and the Reins have only a very small chance after that. Alts still get their own set pieces and rings.
How many days does the Ghoulish Collection take?
Nine. Each day's first kill on a character gives one piece that character doesn't have yet, with no duplicates (Blizzard).
What's new for Hallow's End in 2026?
Midnight Candy Buckets in Quel'Thalas, neighborhood themes with dailies and a piñata, holiday decor, and ten new achievements (Blizzard).
Where do you spend Tricky Treats?
At the Wickerman vendors outside Stormwind and Undercity, and at the neighborhood holiday vendors. The three Ghoulish weapons cost 100 Tricky Treats each (Blizzard).
