TBC Anniversary Jewelcrafting Leveling Guide 1-375: Phase 3.5
TBC Anniversary jewelcrafting leveling guide 1-375: full route with fallbacks, shopping list, trainers, prospecting by ore and the new epic gem sources.

In this guide 13 sections
Quick summary
- Train 1–300 in Azeroth or Outland, 300–375 in Outland. Farii (The Exodar) and Kalinda (Silvermoon City) cover 1–300. Tatiana (Honor Hold) and Kalaen (Thrallmar) teach Master Jewelcrafting.
- The route most guides agree on: Delicate Copper Wire → Tigerseye Band → Bronze Setting → Gloom Band → Heavy Stone Statue → Pendant of the Agate Shield → Mithril Filigree → Engraved Truesilver Ring → Aquamarine → Thorium Setting → Ruby, Opal, Diamond, Emerald rings → Outland gem cuts → Mercurial Adamantite → Heavy Adamantite Ring → Purified Shadow Pearl → rare or meta cuts.
- Prospecting unlocks at skill 20. It turns 5 ore into gems, which is why Mining is the usual partner.
- Draenei get +5 Jewelcrafting from Gemcutting, so recipes stay orange 5 points longer.
- The last 15–25 points depend on your realm. Rare designs are world drops or reputation rewards, so plan a fallback before you reach 350.
- New since October 22: Magtheridon's Black Sack of Gems and the Jewelcrafter's Brilliant Glass can now contain epic gems (Blizzard).
This TBC Anniversary jewelcrafting leveling guide is current for Phase 3.5, the Zul'Aman update of October 22, 2026. The 1–375 route hasn't changed since launch. What changed is the gem economy around it: epic gems arrived in Phase 3, and Blizzard's Zul'Aman update notes added epic gems to two more sources.
Check what you need before you start
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Apprentice (1–75) | Any Jewelcrafting trainer, no level requirement for skill 1 |
| Journeyman (to 150) | Character level 10 |
| Expert (to 225) | Character level 20 |
| Artisan (to 300) | Character level 35 |
| Master (to 375) | Character level 50 and skill 275, Outland trainer |
| Tools | Jeweler's Kit and Simple Grinder, from Jewelcrafting supplies or trade goods vendors |
| Extra tool at 325 | Mercurial Stone (an Alchemy craft, Jewelcrafters can't make it) |
The rank levels follow wow-professions, and Icy Veins' Jewelcrafting guide lists the two tools.
Find your trainer
| Skill range | Faction | Trainer | Location |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–300 | Alliance | Farii | The Exodar |
| 1–300 | Horde | Kalinda | Silvermoon City |
| 300–375 | Alliance | Tatiana | Honor Hold, Hellfire Peninsula (about 55, 64) |
| 300–375 | Horde | Kalaen | Thrallmar, Hellfire Peninsula (about 57, 37) |
| 300–375 | Both factions | Xyrol | Area 52, Netherstorm (about 32, 67) |
Trainer names and coordinates are from Icy Veins. Classic capital cities have no Jewelcrafting trainer, so an Alliance character starts in The Exodar and a Horde character in Silvermoon City, or at the Hellfire Peninsula trainers once in Outland.
Choose how you'll source materials
Jewelcrafting eats ore and bars. How you get them changes your plan more than any recipe choice.
| Method | How it works | Pros | Cons | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mining + Jewelcrafting | Mine ore, smelt bars, prospect the spare ore | Lowest gold cost. You produce your own gems | Slowest. You'll farm Copper through Thorium | Fresh characters leveling both together |
| Buy bars and gems | Buy everything on the shopping list | Fastest. Often done in one sitting | Highest gold cost. Limited-stock items can be scarce | Mains at 70 with gold saved |
| Buy ore and prospect | Buy ore, smelt what the route needs, prospect the rest | Gems arrive "free" with each bar step | Prospecting results are random | Players with a Mining alt or a friend who mines |
wow-professions and Icy Veins both recommend leveling it with Mining. Our Mining leveling guide has the ore routes, and our best professions guide compares Jewelcrafting with the other picks if you haven't decided yet.
Buy the shopping list
This list follows the standard wow-professions route. Buy 5–10% extra of anything that sits at the end of a yellow range.

Both routes work. Pick one list and stick to it, or you'll end up with leftovers.
Follow the full route, 1–375
The "Main craft" column is the standard route most leveling guides use. The "Fallback" column is what to make if a material or design is scarce on your realm.

| 365–375 | Meta gem cuts | 1 Earthstorm or Skyfire Diamond | 10 | Embrace of the Dawn |
Learn the Outland cut designs from Tatiana or Kalaen. wow-professions says the Potent Flame Spessarite design comes from Nakodu in Shattrath at Friendly with Lower City. The other 335 designs are trainer recipes.
Example: you're a Horde Blood Elf at level 62 with Mining at 300. Train Jewelcrafting from Kalaen in Thrallmar, buy the Copper through Thorium bars you didn't mine, and run 1–300 in one evening at the Thrallmar forge. Then prospect your Fel Iron for the first Outland cuts and leave 325+ until you reach Adamantite nodes.
Get the limited-supply designs early
Three designs on the route aren't sold by trainers. They're limited stock, so other players camp them on busy realms.
| Design | Used for | Vendors |
|---|---|---|
| Pendant of the Agate Shield | 120–150 | Neal Allen, Menethil Harbor, Wetlands (Alliance); Jandia, Freewind Post, Thousand Needles (Horde) |
| Amulet of the Moon | 120–140 (turns yellow at 140) | Several limited-supply vendors, listed in the wow-professions guide |
| Blazing Citrine Ring | 180–195 | Micha Yance in Hillsbrad Foothills, Kireena in Desolace |
wow-professions says the restock seems to be about 5–10 minutes but that the timer isn't confirmed. If a camper is reselling the design for more than the fallback costs, take the fallback.
Prospect the right ore at the right skill
Prospecting takes 5 ore of one kind. The table below shows the skill needed and the gems each ore gives, based on Icy Veins' prospecting table. Blizzard doesn't publish prospecting odds, so plan with ranges rather than exact counts.
| Ore | Skill | Common gems | Rarer gems | Feeds route step |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Copper | 20 | Malachite, Tigerseye | Shadowgem | 35–50 |
| Tin | 50 | Lesser Moonstone, Moss Agate, Shadowgem | Aquamarine, Citrine, Jade | 80–150 |
| Iron | 125 | Lesser Moonstone, Citrine, Jade | Star Ruby, Aquamarine | 120–210 |
| Mithril | 175 | Star Ruby, Aquamarine, Citrine | Blue Sapphire, Large Opal, Azerothian Diamond, Huge Emerald | 210–281 |
| Thorium | 250 | Star Ruby, Huge Emerald, Azerothian Diamond, Blue Sapphire, Large Opal | Outland uncommon gems | 250–300 |
| Fel Iron | 275 | All six Outland uncommon gems | Outland rare gems | 300–340 |
| Adamantite | 325 | All six Outland uncommon gems, plus Adamantite Powder | Outland rare gems | 325–375 |
Tin is the ore to stockpile early. It feeds three route steps at once. Thorium becomes worth prospecting once your Ruby and Opal steps are next.
Finish 350–375 without overspending
The last 25 points are the only part of the route with real choices. All of them use cuts you'd sell or socket anyway.
| Option | Skill | What you need | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Purified Shadow Pearl | 350–360 (to 365) | Shadow Pearl, Purified Draenic Water | Shadow Pearls come from Jaggal Clams, at a drop rate too low to farm |
| Mystic Dawnstone | 350–360 | Dawnstone | Design from the Halaa vendor (limited stock). Your faction must hold Halaa |
| Steady Talasite | 350–360 | Talasite | Design for 4 Halaa Research Tokens |
| Rare world-drop cuts | 350–365 | A rare Outland gem | Search the Auction House recipe tab for Living Ruby, Nightseye, Noble Topaz, Star of Elune, Talasite and Dawnstone |
| Kailee's Rose, Blood of Amber | 360–365 | 1 rare gem | Almaador, Shattrath (The Sha'tar Honored and Revered) |
| Facet of Eternity, Stone of Blades | 360–365 | Rare gems | Alurmi, Tanaris (Keepers of Time Honored and Revered) |
| Falling Star | 360–365 | Rare gem | Nakodu, Shattrath (Lower City Revered) |
| Crimson Sun, Don Julio's Heart | 360–365 | Rare gems | Consortium Revered (Paulsta'ats in Nagrand, Karaaz in Netherstorm) |
| Insightful Earthstorm Diamond | 365–375 | Earthstorm Diamond | Almaador (Sha'tar Friendly) |
| Swift Skyfire Diamond | 365–375 | Skyfire Diamond | Paulsta'ats (Consortium Honored) |
| Enigmatic Skyfire Diamond | 365–375 | Skyfire Diamond | Alurmi (Keepers of Time Honored) |
Vendors and standings are from wow-professions. Check the reputations you already have before you buy anything. A raiding main usually has several of these at Honored or better from leveling and heroics. Our Keepers of Time reputation guide, Sha'tar guide and Consortium guide cover the fastest route to each standing. Our gems and enchants guide shows which meta and epic cuts each spec wants, so you can level on gems you'll actually use.
Know where epic gems come from in Phase 3.5
Once you're at 375, the money is in epic gem cuts. These are the sources open on Anniversary realms now:
| Source | What it gives | When |
|---|---|---|
| Indormi, Scale of the Sands quartermaster (Caverns of Time, by the Hyjal entrance) | 26 epic gem designs: 13 at Friendly, 9 at Honored and 4 at Revered | Phase 3 onward |
| Mount Hyjal and Black Temple drops | Uncut epic gems, plus a few epic designs at a very low drop rate | Phase 3 onward |
| Magtheridon's Black Sack of Gems | Can contain epic gems | Since October 22 (Blizzard) |
| Jewelcrafter's Brilliant Glass | Can contain epic gems | Since October 22 (Blizzard). Brilliant Glass made before the patch won't |
The Indormi design counts come from Warcraft Tavern's Scale of the Sands guide. Sunwell Plateau (Phase 4, no date announced yet) will add the Shattered Sun Offensive designs, new necklace and ring patterns, and Jewelcrafter-only figurine trinkets at Exalted (Icy Veins).
Avoid five common mistakes
- Selling your settings and filigree. Bronze Settings, Mithril Filigree, and Thorium Settings are reused later. Count what you need before you vendor anything.
- Forgetting the Mercurial Stone. You can't craft Mercurial Adamantite without it, and Jewelcrafters can't make it. Buy it or ask an Alchemist before 325.
- Training Master too late. Master needs character level 50, 275 skill and a trip to an Outland trainer. Reaching 300 skill doesn't train it for you.
- Buying a camped design at a markup. Heavy Jade Ring and Golden Dragon Ring cover 120–150 if Pendant of the Agate Shield is overpriced.
- Crafting past the yellow range. Green recipes rarely give points. Once a recipe turns green, move to the next step.
Plan for returning, boosted, and alt players
- Returning players: your old 2021 knowledge still applies. The recipes and ranges match. What's changed is the economy: Phase 3.5 realms already have lots of cut gems listed, so leveling on cuts that sell (rather than rings you vendor) matters more.
- Boosted or freshly leveled 70s: buy the whole list and level in one session. Reputations from the Sha'tar, Lower City, Consortium and Keepers of Time open the cheapest finishes, so start heroics early. Heroic keys only need Honored since October 22.
- Alts: if your main mines, mail it the ore and prospect on the alt. A Draenei alt gets the +5 Gemcutting bonus and keeps each recipe orange a little longer.
Review your progress at each trainer visit
At each new rank (50, 150, 225, 300), check three things:
- Do I still have enough settings or filigree for the next two steps?
- Is the next design in stock, or do I need the fallback?
- Which gems have I prospected that a later step can use?
Write it down as: "At ___ I have ___ settings, ___ filigree, and my next step is ___ (fallback ___)." It keeps you from overcrafting.
If you want help with a profession, independent sellers list services on the TBC Anniversary professions page. The TBC Anniversary hub collects the rest of our guides for this version. Blizzard's End User License Agreement restricts account sharing and paid in-game services, and a marketplace listing isn't publisher permission.
FAQ
What is the fastest way to level Jewelcrafting in TBC Anniversary? Buy the full shopping list and follow the route in one session: wire, bronze settings, Gloom Band, statues, Agate Shield pendants, filigree, Truesilver rings, Aquamarine, thorium settings and gem rings to 300, then Outland cuts to 375. Buying instead of mining is faster but costs more gold.
Where is the Jewelcrafting trainer in TBC Anniversary? Farii in The Exodar (Alliance) and Kalinda in Silvermoon City (Horde) teach up to 300. Tatiana at Honor Hold and Kalaen at Thrallmar teach Master Jewelcrafting, and Xyrol at Area 52 in Netherstorm teaches both factions.
What skill do you need to prospect in TBC? Prospecting unlocks at Jewelcrafting skill 20. Each ore has its own requirement, from 20 for Copper Ore to 325 for Adamantite Ore.
What is the best profession to pair with Jewelcrafting? Mining. It supplies ore for bars and for prospecting, which lowers the gold cost a lot. Without it, plan to buy every material.
What is the best race for Jewelcrafting? Draenei. Their Gemcutting racial adds 5 Jewelcrafting skill, so each recipe stays orange a little longer. No other race gets a Jewelcrafting bonus.
Is Jewelcrafting worth it and profitable in TBC Anniversary? For most raiders, yes. Every raider needs cut gems, and the epic gem sources added on October 22 make cutting more active. Profit depends on your realm's gem prices, so compare raw and cut prices before you cut in bulk.
