TBC Anniversary Professions Leveling Guide 1-375: All 13 Routes
TBC Anniversary professions leveling guide 1-375: Master trainers for both factions, every route, cheapest pairs, specializations and rep gates.

In this guide 12 sections
Quick summary
- The cap is 375. Each character gets two primary professions plus all three secondary ones: Cooking, First Aid and Fishing (Icy Veins).
- Every capital trains to 300. Master (300–375) is in Outland, mostly in Hellfire Peninsula at Honor Hold (Alliance) or Thrallmar (Horde). Crafting professions need character level 50 for Master; gathering professions are listed at 40 to 55, which you'll have passed by the time you reach Outland at 58.
- Most crafts can push to roughly 310–330 on Classic materials, for example Enchanted Thorium Blades for Blacksmithing or Runecloth crafts for Tailoring. The last 45 points always need Outland materials, and several need reputation.
- Gathering professions have no shortcut. You level them in the right zone: Hellfire Peninsula, then Terokkar, Zangarmarsh or Nagrand, then Netherstorm, Nagrand or Shadowmoon Valley.
- Four races get a head start: Gnome (Engineering +15), Blood Elf (Enchanting +10), Draenei (Jewelcrafting +5) and Tauren (Herbalism +15).
This TBC Anniversary professions leveling guide is the hub for all 13 professions on Anniversary realms. It gives the shape of each 1–375 route, the Master trainer for both factions, the specializations, and the reputation gates that stop people at 360. Each row links to a full profession guide with exact recipes and material counts.
It's current for Phase 3.5, the Zul'Aman update of October 22, 2026. That patch changed no profession trainers or leveling recipes. It did make two finishing materials easier to get: Blizzard's Zul'Aman update notes made Primal Nether and Nether Vortex tradeable, and added new Leatherworking patterns for Greater Drums, the Knothide Quiver and the Knothide Ammo Pouch at Outland faction vendors.
TBC profession rules: slots, ranks and level requirements
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Primary slots | Two, from Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Herbalism, Jewelcrafting, Leatherworking, Mining, Skinning and Tailoring |
| Secondary slots | All three: Cooking, First Aid, Fishing |
| Ranks | Apprentice (to 75), Journeyman (from skill 50), Expert (from 125), Artisan (from 200), Master (from 275) |
| Character level for ranks | Journeyman 10, Expert 20, Artisan 35, Master 50 for crafting professions. For gathering professions, guides list Master at level 40 to 55, which you'll have passed by the time you reach Outland at 58 |
| Artisan training | Every capital trainer teaches up to 300. You don't need the old Classic trips to Uldaman or Booty Bay |
You must visit a trainer at each rank breakpoint. Your skill stops at 75, 150, 225 and 300 until you buy the next rank, so train at 50, 125, 200 and 275 to avoid wasting skill-ups. Cooking, First Aid and Fishing use books and quests instead of trainers for their later ranks, as the route table further down shows.

Reputation gates for the last profession points
Several crafting routes end on recipes sold by faction quartermasters. Start these reputations as soon as you reach 70, because they take longer than the skill points.
| Profession | Recipe | Reputation |
|---|---|---|
| Leatherworking | Drums of Battle (365–375) | The Sha'tar, Honored. See our Sha'tar reputation guide |
| Leatherworking | Drums of Panic (370–375) | Keepers of Time, Honored |
| Enchanting | Enchant Ring – Spellpower | Keepers of Time, Honored. See our Keepers of Time guide |
| Blacksmithing | Enchanted Adamantite Belt or Flamebane Gloves | Scryers or Aldor, depending on your choice in our Aldor vs Scryers guide |
| Jewelcrafting | Late gem designs | Several Outland factions; the Jewelcrafting guide lists each one |
This table is a planning aid. Each profession guide names the exact quartermaster and the cheaper fallback when you don't have the reputation yet.
TBC profession specializations: when and which
| Profession | Unlocks at | Options |
|---|---|---|
| Engineering | Skill 200, level 30 | Gnomish (utility, PvP) or Goblin (explosives). Switching means relearning Engineering (wow-professions) |
| Blacksmithing | Skill 200, level 40 | Armorsmith or Weaponsmith, then a weapon type (Warcraft Tavern) |
| Leatherworking | Skill 225, level 40 | Elemental (physical DPS), Tribal (caster Druids), Dragonscale (Shamans) (Warcraft Tavern) |
| Alchemy | Skill 325, level 68 | Potion, Elixir or Transmutation Master. You can switch later for 150 gold (wow-professions) |
| Tailoring | Skill 350, level 60 | Mooncloth (healers), Shadoweave (Shadow, Frost), Spellfire (Fire, Arcane), learned in Lower City (Warcraft Tavern) |
Pick the specialization that matches the gear you want, not the leveling route. None of them changes how you reach 375.
Fastest and cheapest way to level professions in TBC
The fastest way is to buy all the materials and craft at a capital. The cheapest way is to gather your own. Most players mix the two:
- Train gathering at the start of Outland. Herbs, ore and beasts in Hellfire Peninsula give skill points while you quest. Train Master as soon as your level allows.
- Pick up the secondary books early. The Master Cookbook, Master First Aid and Master Fishing books are all in Hellfire or Zangarmarsh, along the path in our TBC leveling guide.
- Use Classic materials only where they're cheap. Thorium, Runecloth and Illusion Dust carry most crafts past 300, but a busy realm can price them above Fel Iron and Netherweave. Compare before you buy a whole bracket.
- Bank Outland materials. Fel Iron Bars, Knothide Leather and Netherweave bolts all come back later in each route.
- Buy the last epic materials. Primal Nether and Nether Vortex are tradeable since October 22, so crafters can buy them instead of running heroics or raids.
A flying mount speeds up every gathering route in the 350–375 zones. Our flying mount guide covers the cost and the trainers.
Example. A boosted level 58 Draenei Paladin wants Jewelcrafting and Mining for raid gems. She trains Mining in Hellfire Peninsula, mines Fel Iron while questing to 62, prospects as she goes, and trains Master Jewelcrafting with Tatiana at Honor Hold. Her racial +5 keeps each design orange 5 points longer.
Example. A level 70 Mage with no professions wants a gold maker and a raid perk. He picks Tailoring and Enchanting, buys Runecloth for the late Classic brackets because it's cheap on his realm, and disenchants the Netherweave pieces he crafts for the dust Enchanting needs.
TBC profession racial bonuses
| Race | Bonus | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Gnome | Engineering +15 | Recipes stay orange 15 points longer |
| Blood Elf | Enchanting +10 (Arcane Affinity) | Recipes stay orange 10 points longer |
| Draenei | Jewelcrafting +5 (Gemcutting) | Recipes stay orange 5 points longer |
| Tauren | Herbalism +15 (Cultivation) | Herbs become gatherable 15 skill points sooner |
wow-professions notes that no race has an Alchemy bonus in TBC.
Avoid these profession leveling mistakes
- Vendoring Engineering parts. The route spends them later.
- Smelting every bracket. Wowhead's Mining guide says you'll still need to mine three gaps.
- Leaving reputation for the end. The last 10 Leatherworking points need The Sha'tar and Keepers of Time at Honored.
- Specializing Engineering on a whim. Switching means dropping the profession and starting over.
- Training late. Skill-ups past a rank cap are lost, so visit the trainer at 50, 125, 200 and 275.
Boosted, returning and alt players
- Boosted characters start at skill 0. The leveling path from 58 passes every Master trainer in Hellfire Peninsula, so start gathering immediately.
- Alts can carry the gathering professions to fund a main's crafts. Our gold farming guide covers which materials sell.
- Raiders need the right professions for gems and enchants. Our gems and enchants guide lists the profession-only bonuses.
Profession services from independent sellers are listed on the TBC Anniversary professions page, and the rest of our guides sit on the TBC Anniversary hub. Blizzard's End User License Agreement restricts account sharing and paid in-game services, and a marketplace listing isn't publisher permission.
