MapleStory Classic Hair Salon Guide: Coupons, Styles, Beauty Album

In MapleStory Classic World, you pick a hairstyle and face when you make a character. Every change after that takes a Cash Shop coupon and a trip to a salon in town. The coupon decides whether you choose the result or roll for it, and the random lists rotate on dates Nexon announces in its Cash Shop notices. This MapleStory Classic hair salon guide covers where each salon is, how each coupon works, exactly which styles you can get right now, and how the new Beauty Album saves the looks you've paid for.

• Hair and hair color change at a Hair Salon (Henesys or Kerning City), faces and eye color at Henesys Plastic Surgery, and skin at Henesys Skin-Care (Nexon, henesys.gg, MapleStory Quest).
• Signature coupons let you choose; Mystery coupons pick at random. Each list has 6 styles per gender, per Nexon's Cash Shop notices. A Signature Hair Coupon is 7,500 NX and a Mystery Hair Coupon 5,500 NX, and every coupon lasts 14 days.
• The Mystery lists rotate. The launch lists ended October 28; a new set of 6 hairs and 6 faces per gender runs until November 11 at 7:59 AM UTC (Nexon). The Signature lists haven't changed.
• The Beauty Album, new at Grand Launch, saves hairstyles, faces and skin color so you can switch back later. Extra slots cost 20,000 NX (hair) or 16,000 NX (face), up to 24 each.
• Styles from coupons can't be traded (Nexon FAQ). Pick for the character you'll keep.

The coupons say "Hair Salon in town," not a named town, so either salon works (Nexon's Grand Launch Cash Shop notice). In the first closed test, each coupon was tied to Henesys or Kerning City (NiaMeowDB). Henesys has all four services, so it's the easy stop. Signature or Mystery?

A Mystery coupon picks 1 of the 6 styles for your gender. Nexon added a Rates Info button to probability-based Cash Shop items at Grand Launch, so check the exact odds there before buying. If the odds are even, that's a 1 in 6 (about 17%) chance of the exact style you want, and an even chance of getting it within 4 tries (1 − (5/6)⁴ ≈ 52%, our math). Four Mystery Hair Coupons cost 22,000 NX, nearly three times a Signature coupon.

Example: you want Cecelia Twist. It's only in the October 28 Mystery list, so a Signature coupon can't give it. Budget for several Mystery coupons, or wait to see whether a later Signature list adds it.

Nexon corrected the October 28 post the same day: Rockstar Hair isn't in this rotation, and Cecelia Twist is. The first rotation (October 6 to 28) offered Bed Head Hair, Prince Cut Hair, Short Regent Cut, Dreamcatcher, Metrosexual Hair and Antagonist for men, and Lovely Ladyhawk, Ponytail-to-the-Side, Vivacious Wavy Hair, Angelica Hair, Caspia Hair and Rose for women. Styles from an ended rotation may come back later, but nothing announced says so.

Most of the 180 hairstyles aren't in any list on sale, so an old favorite from the original game may simply not be available yet.

Save looks in the Beauty Album

The Beauty Album is a Grand Launch feature that saves your character's hairstyles, face styles and skin color in one place, so you can return to a look later without buying another coupon (Nexon's Grand Launch release notes).

• Apply a saved look carefully. Since October 15, a confirmation message warns that your current look is saved to the slot you select when you apply a saved one (Nexon maintenance notes). Pick an empty slot if you want to keep both.
• Extra slots are sold separately. A Beauty Album Hair Slot Film costs 20,000 NX and a Face Slot Film 16,000 NX. Each permanently adds one slot, up to 24 hair and 24 face slots, and the films arrived with the Grand Launch maintenance.
• Save before you roll. If a Mystery coupon gives you a style you don't like, a saved look is the only free way back.

Nexon hasn't published how many free slots a new character starts with. The Beauty Album window in game shows your count.

The Frieren coupons are use items, not salon coupons, and they come with the Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Signature Style Collection. If you bought the collection, henesys.gg's update notes say its coupons are in your in-game mailbox once you've left Maple Island, from October 23 to November 3 at 11:59 PM UTC, and are gone after that. The coupons and the styles they give can't be traded. An unopened outfit set from the collection can instead be exchanged for 2 Aurora Stamps (Nexon).

Plan for alts and returning players

• Styles don't transfer. Nexon's FAQ says hair and face styles from coupons are untradeable. Outfit and Signature Style Collection boxes can move between characters on the same account through the Cash Inventory. Hairstyles can't.
• Making an alt for looks? You only get 3 hairstyles and 3 faces per gender at creation (NiaMeowDB), so most looks need a coupon.
• Returning from old GMS? There are no REG/VIP or town-named coupons, and no meso-priced salon option in the live game. Many old style names aren't in any list on sale.
• Played a closed test? Your test-era coupon names won't match. Use the Mystery/Signature names.

What changed for hair and face at Grand Launch

Grand Launch (v1.0.0, October 21, 2026) and the week after brought these changes, from Nexon's release, maintenance and Cash Shop notices:

The Debt System added on October 22 also blocks Cash Shop gifting for accounts in debt, so a gifted coupon can't reach them (Nexon). How do I change my hair in MapleStory Classic? Get a Signature or Mystery Hair Coupon from the Cash Shop and take it to the Hair Salon in Henesys or Kerning City. Signature lets you choose from 6 styles for your gender; Mystery picks one of the current 6 at random.
