MapleStory Classic Henesys Guide: NPCs, Shops, Town Quests

Henesys is the Bowman home town and for most players, the first real town after Lith Harbor (MapleClassic Wiki). It's also one of the two towns where you can become a citizen and buy a house, and it has the biggest NPC cast on Victoria Island. Quick summary

• 30+ NPCs across 9 buildings and areas. The town square alone has 11 (MapleStory Quest).

HubCW lists 9 exits from the town square. The wiki describes the layout: a giant oak at the north end, where the Bowman instructor lives, and a central plaza where parties form.

Mr. Lee gives Henesys citizens a storage discount (wiki and NiaMeowDB, via our inventory guide). Bianca, Tommy and the Doorbell belong to the housing system, which opened at Grand Launch: once you're a Henesys citizen at Visitor grade or higher, Bianca sells you a house for mesos (Nexon). Luna's 23 items match NiaMeowDB exactly. Unlike Lith Harbor's Mina and Perion's Arturo, she stocks a Dexterity Potion (500), which suits Bowmen.

NiaMeowDB's recorded launch inventory has 13 items and doesn't include Ryden or Eagle Crow, so treat those two as unavailable from Karl. The same top-tier gap shows up at Perion's weapon store (our Perion guide).

Sam, Weapon Store

NiaMeowDB lists 71 armor items for Sam, Bowman gear in every slot, plus any-job hats like the Old Wisconsin and Baseball Caps. Our hats guide compares them with the other towns' hats. Some highlights:

MapleStory Quest has no shop recorded for Sam yet. It lists only his level 1 quest, Sam's Suggestion (10 Snails, 30 EXP).

Town Hall: grade-gated citizen shops

Raymond, Flint and Oak sell to everyone, but most items need a citizen grade. Prices and grades are NiaMeowDB's launch-confirmed Henesys lists; older community pages that show 25,000 to 50,000 scroll prices or a 10,000-meso chair are closed-test figures.

The Resident's Chair is trade-blocked and restores 20 HP and 5 MP every 10 seconds while you sit (NiaMeowDB). Grade 7 needs level 42, so it's a mid-game purchase. Our gloves guide explains why the grade 9 glove scrolls are the shop's most-wanted stock.

What the chains add up to (our math)

• Maya's four Collections: 2 × 4,780 + 2 × 11,400 = 32,360 EXP and 4,884 mesos. The last one needs a Diamond and 100 golem rubble.
• Pia's cape chain: 9,060 + 6,342 + 9,060 + 9,060 = 33,522 EXP. Our quests guide lists the reward as a random Greater Cape stat scroll.
• Chief Stan's level 18 pair: 2,340 EXP and 1,170 mesos. Both use Green and Blue Mushrooms you'll hunt for Pia anyway.
• Legend of the Snail: 7,477 EXP and 2,434 mesos over four quests (NiaMeowDB), then a fifth step that asks for Mano's Rainbow-colored Snail Shell and lists no reward in the game data.

Example: a level 20 Bowman can stack three things in one trip west of town: snail shells for Pia's new chain, mushroom caps for Chief Stan, and Halloween Candies for Malady until November 18. Our Henesys Hunting Ground guide shows which maps hold all three monster types.

• Returning from original MapleStory? Henesys still looks like the classic plaza with the oak, Pig Park and Athena Pierce. New in Classic World: citizenship, the Town Hall shops, housing NPCs (Bianca, Tommy), Woodcrafting and Leatherworking (MapleStory Quest, wiki).
• Alt planning: citizenship is per character, so pick the town that fits each job. Bowmen get arrows at grade 3 in Henesys (our citizenship guide).
• Storage runs: Mr. Lee in Henesys Park is the citizen-discount keeper. Storage is shared across your account (wiki).
• New accounts: trading opens 24 hours after a character on the account reaches level 15 (Nexon), so the Free Market portal in Henesys Market is browse-only until then.

Where is the Bowman job instructor in Henesys? Athena Pierce is in the Bowman Instructional School, at the oak at the north end of town. You advance at level 10 and again at 30 (Nexon, MapleStory Quest).

What's the best Henesys quest? For EXP, Pia's level 42 cape chain (33,522 EXP) and Maya's Collections (32,360 EXP over four steps, our math). At level 20, Pia's new Legend of the Snail chain adds 7,477 EXP.

Where is storage in Henesys? Mr. Lee in Henesys Park. Henesys citizens get a storage discount there, rising to 50% at the top grade (NiaMeowDB).

How do you buy a house in Henesys? Become a Henesys citizen through Arthur in the Town Hall, reach Visitor grade, then talk to Bianca, the Housing Registrar, and pay in mesos (Nexon). You can own one home per account.

How much is the Henesys Resident's Chair? 500,000 mesos from Oak in the Town Hall, at the Distinguished Citizen grade (grade 7), per NiaMeowDB's launch-confirmed list. It's trade-blocked.
