TBC Anniversary Sunwell Plateau Guide: Phase 4 Bosses and Prep
TBC Anniversary Sunwell Plateau guide for Phase 4: release status, all six bosses by role, Tier 6 tokens, Magisters' Terrace and Shattered Sun prep.

In this guide 11 sections
Quick summary
- No date yet. Warcraft Tavern's phase schedule lists Phase 4, Fury of the Sunwell, for autumn 2026, and Blizzard hasn't announced a day.
- Sunwell Plateau is a 25-player raid with six bosses and no attunement. It runs Kalecgos, Brutallus, Felmyst, the Eredar Twins, M'uru and Kil'jaeden in a fixed order (Wowhead).
- It finishes Tier 6. It has wrist, waist and feet tokens at item level 154. Other loot is 154–159, and Kil'jaeden drops 164, including the legendary bow Thori'dal.
- Phase 4 is more than a raid. It also adds the Isle of Quel'Danas, Shattered Sun Offensive dailies and the Magisters' Terrace dungeon (Warcraft Tavern).
This TBC Anniversary Sunwell Plateau guide covers what Phase 4 will add on Anniversary realms, how the six bosses work for each role, which Tier 6 pieces drop there, and what to finish in Phase 3.5 (Zul'Aman, Black Temple and Hyjal) before it opens. The encounters are the same as in original TBC and in the 2022 TBC Classic release.
When does Sunwell come out in TBC Anniversary?
| Item | Status |
|---|---|
| Official window | Autumn 2026, no exact date (Warcraft Tavern's phase schedule) |
| Current phase | Phase 3.5, the Zul'Aman update of October 22, 2026 (Blizzard) |
| 2022 gap after Zul'Aman | 47 days (March 24 to May 10, 2022), per Warcraft Tavern |
| 2022 boss gates | The whole raid was open from launch, per Warcraft Tavern |
If Anniversary repeated the 2022 gap, Phase 4 would land in early December. That's an inference from history, not an announcement, so treat any date you see elsewhere as a guess until Blizzard posts it.
Phase 4 vs Phase 5: the phase names
Sources use different numbers for the same content, which makes searching confusing.
| Content | Blizzard (Anniversary) | Wowhead | Warcraft Tavern |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zul'Aman, October 22 | Phase 3.5 | "Phase 4" in its Anniversary news | Phase 4 (2022 numbering) |
| Sunwell, Isle, Magisters' Terrace | Phase 4, Fury of the Sunwell | Phase 5 in the TBC Classic guides | Phase 5 in its overview, "Phase 6" in its raid guide |
On Anniversary, search for "Phase 4" or "Fury of the Sunwell". Older guides that call it Phase 5 describe the same content.
How to get to Sunwell Plateau
- Level: 70. Wowhead lists no other entry requirement.
- Location: the Isle of Quel'Danas, off the northern coast of the Eastern Kingdoms. Fly in from the Eastern Kingdoms network. Wowhead says the entrance is down the road southwest of the flight master.
- Shattrath portal: this opens once your realm completes the Isle's stage "Phase 2 – Activating the Sunwell Portal". The portal is in the northwest part of the Terrace of Light and exits at /way 47.7, 35.0 (Wowhead). Warcraft Tavern adds that you have to dismount to use it.
- Attunement: none. Since October 22, Black Temple and Hyjal don't have one either (Blizzard).
Sunwell Plateau bosses by role
Warcraft Tavern counts eight bosses because it lists Sathrovarr and Entropius separately. Tanks need more health and armor than they did in Black Temple.
Kalecgos and Sathrovarr
The raid splits between Kalecgos and a spectral realm where Sathrovarr the Corruptor waits. Players rotate through portals.
| Role | Job (Warcraft Tavern) |
|---|---|
| Tanks | Three tanks rotate through set portals. Turn Kalecgos so his front and tail face away from the raid. Paladins can clear high Arcane Buffet stacks (8 or more) with Divine Shield |
| Healers | The first portal has only two healers against heavy damage. Sathrovarr's Corrupting Strike hits the tank for about 10,000 shadow damage and stuns them. Put heals over time on the tank before you're ejected |
| DPS | Watch threat if Wild Magic hits you at the pull. Downstairs, stack with the ranged group and use cooldowns during Heroism or Bloodlust |
Brutallus
Wowhead calls him the expansion's tank-buster, and Warcraft Tavern puts the fight at about six minutes.
| Role | Job |
|---|---|
| Tanks | Wear every avoidance and mitigation piece. The off-tank taunts right after each Stomp. If you get Burn, survive until Stomp removes it |
| Healers | Burn ramps to 3,200 damage per second in its last 10 seconds. Switch to the other tank on each Stomp. Plan mana potions and runes |
| Melee | Stand behind or beside him and never near a tank. If Meteor Slash hits you or he parries, you're in the wrong spot. With Burn, stay more than 2 yards from others |
| Ranged | Watch threat, since aggro wipes the raid |
Felmyst
| Role | Job |
|---|---|
| Tanks | Only the main tank stands in front because of Cleave. Save cooldowns for Corrosion, which doubles damage taken for 10 seconds. Felmyst doesn't land crushing blows |
| Healers | Noxious Fumes deals constant raid damage. Encapsulate's target needs immediate healing |
| DPS | Mages can Ice Block, Paladins Divine Shield and Rogues Cloak of Shadows out of Encapsulate. Save cooldowns for the last ground phase |
Eredar Twins: Lady Sacrolash and Grand Warlock Alythess
| Role | Job |
|---|---|
| Sacrolash tanks | Two tanks stay first and second on threat because Confounding Blow makes her ignore the main tank for 6 seconds. Keep her more than 20 yards from the ranged stack because of Shadow Blades |
| Alythess tank | Pull her away and kite her in a circle around her flames, staying in healer range |
| Healers and ranged | Stand on the ledge until Sacrolash is at 1–2%, then jump down behind Alythess. Conflagration deals 1,600 damage per second and Flame Sear needs spam healing |
| Melee | Make a triangle with the tanks behind Sacrolash. Reset Dark Touched stacks in Alythess's Blaze flames, and run away from the raid for Shadow Nova and Conflagration |
M'uru and Entropius
Wowhead calls M'uru the most challenging encounter in the expansion. It's an add fight against a 10-minute enrage shared by both phases, then a damage race against Entropius. Numbers below are from Warcraft Wiki's M'uru tactics page.
| Phase | What happens | Response |
|---|---|---|
| 1: M'uru | Negative Energy beams hit 4–5 random players every second. Every 60 seconds, each side door sends a Fury Mage and two Shadowsword Berserkers. Darkness drops a void zone in the middle every 45 seconds and spawns Dark Fiends that explode on contact. Void Sentinels spawn and split into eight Void Spawns when killed | Two add teams (a tank, a healer and 3–4 DPS each) take the doors and Polymorph one Berserker. A Warlock-led group kills Sentinels, and a Protection Paladin gathers the Void Spawns for AoE. Dispel or Purge the Dark Fiends; Mass Dispel from a Shadow Priest helps |
| 2: Entropius | About 10 seconds after M'uru dies. Negative Energy chains to more targets over time, Darkness zones spawn under players, and Singularity throws people around | Most adds should be dead before the transition. Burn him and keep moving out of void zones and Singularity |
| Role | Job |
|---|---|
| Tanks | About four: two on the humanoid doors, one or two for Sentinels and Void Spawns. Spell-reflect Void Blast where you can |
| Healers | About six. Negative Energy damage is unresistible and grows in Phase 2, so save mana cooldowns for Entropius |
| DPS | Stay on your assigned adds, return to M'uru between waves, and save cooldowns for the Entropius burn. Mages can Spellsteal Spell Fury from the Fury Mages |
Kil'jaeden
| Role | Job |
|---|---|
| Everyone | Kill the Hand of the Deceiver adds one at a time first. Hide under Shield of the Blue for Darkness of a Thousand Souls. Dodge Shadow Spikes and the Armageddon meteors in the last phase |
| Ranged | Spread 10 yards apart in an arc because Fire Bloom hits five targets. Kill Sinister Reflections and Shield Orbs quickly |
| Healers | Spreading for Fire Bloom weakens chain heals. Use the blue dragon's Breath: Revitalize for mana. Holy Paladins can Divine Shield off Fire Bloom |
| Cooldowns | Most come back more than once in this long fight. Save damage cooldowns for the final phase |
Example: a guild that clears Black Temple brings three tanks to its first Sunwell week. All three rotate through the Kalecgos portals. Two trade Stomp on Brutallus while the third goes back to DPS. On the Twins, two hold Sacrolash and the third kites Alythess. Warcraft Tavern's role notes ask for no more than three tanks at once on those bosses. M'uru is the exception: plan for four, so a fourth player with tank gear is worth recruiting.
Sunwell Plateau loot and Tier 6 tokens
| Token | Bosses (Wowhead loot guide) |
|---|---|
| Wrist | Kalecgos, Eredar Twins |
| Waist | Brutallus, Eredar Twins |
| Feet | Felmyst, Eredar Twins |
| Token group | Classes (Wowhead) |
|---|---|

You exchange tokens with Tydormu at the entrance to Hyjal Summit. Kil'jaeden's item level 164 loot includes Thori'dal, the Stars' Fury, the legendary bow; the rest of the raid drops item level 154–159. Our Tier 6 sets and tokens guide covers set bonuses and which Black Temple and Hyjal bosses drop the other five slots.
Magisters' Terrace in Phase 4
- What it is: a level 70 five-player dungeon on the Isle with four bosses: Selin Fireheart, Vexallus, Priestess Delrissa and Kael'thas Sunstrider (Icy Veins, Warcraft Wiki).
- Heroic access: Icy Veins says you unlock it by completing a quest chain on Normal. Warcraft Tavern names the quest Hard to Kill.
- Reputation: about 120 Shattered Sun reputation per boss on Normal and 250 on Heroic, which adds up to roughly 2,400–2,800 per Heroic run with trash (Icy Veins, Warcraft Tavern).
- Mount: Heroic Kael'thas can drop the Swift White Hawkstrider (Warcraft Tavern, Warcraft Wiki).
Our heroic dungeons and keys guide covers the other 16 heroics and their keys.
Shattered Sun Offensive reputation and Isle of Quel'Danas dailies
Your faction in Shattrath decides the first quest: Crisis at the Sunwell for Aldor, Duty Calls for Scryers. Then come Report to Nasuun in Shattrath, Enter, the Deceiver and The Missing Magistrix (Warcraft Tavern).
Expect the Isle to change in stages
Warcraft Tavern describes the Isle opening in four stages as players complete dailies:
| Stage | What opens | Example dailies (reputation) |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Sun's Reach Sanctum | First base camp | Erratic Behavior (150), The Sanctum Wards (150). Later Blast the Gateway and Blood for Blood in Hellfire (250 each) |
| 2. Sun's Reach Armory | The Armory. Wowhead's Isle guide calls its second stage "Activating the Sunwell Portal" | Distraction at the Dead Scar (150), The Battle for the Sun's Reach Armory (250) |
| 3. Sun's Reach Harbor | The harbor | Intercept the Reinforcements, Making Ready, Taking the Harbor (250 each). Ata'mal Armaments in Shadowmoon (350) |
| 4. Sun's Reach | The full town | Crush the Dawnblade, Keeping the Enemy at Bay, Open for Business (250 each). Discovering Your Roots in Terokkar (350) |
The stages advance across the whole realm, so you can't rush them alone. Do your dailies every day from launch.
Buy the rewards that matter
| Rank | Reward (Eldara Dawnrunner, Warcraft Tavern) | Who wants it |
|---|---|---|
| Honored | Designs for Ember Skyfire and Eternal Earthstorm Diamonds. Formula: Void Shatter | Jewelcrafters, enchanters |
| Revered | Five Jewelcrafting figurine designs, several gem designs, one-handed weapons and Legionfoe | Jewelcrafters, alts |
| Exalted | Four Alchemist Stone recipes, Shattered Sun Pendants of Acumen, Might, Resolve and Restoration, two shields, the tabard | Alchemists and every raider who wants a neck |
Warcraft Tavern also lists Shaani on the Isle and Ontuvo in Shattrath, who sell Jewelcrafting designs from Friendly to Exalted. These include Crimson Spinel, Lionseye, Empyrean Sapphire and Pyrestone cuts. For which gems to slot, see our gems and enchants guide.
Prepare for Sunwell in Phase 3.5
- Finish Tier 6 in Black Temple and Hyjal. Sunwell only adds wrist, waist and feet tokens (Wowhead).
- Farm Zul'Aman and badges. Our Zul'Aman preparation guide covers the raid.
- Build tank stats. Sunwell Radiance cuts your dodge, so tanks should gather extra health and armor pieces now. Our Warrior guide covers tank gear and caps.
- Know your Shattrath faction. Your Aldor or Scryers choice decides which Shattered Sun entry quest you get (Warcraft Tavern).
- Stock consumables. Warcraft Tavern names Super Mana Potions and Dark Runes for Brutallus's long fight.
- Pick a role that 25-player groups recruit. Our healer and tank tier list covers Black Temple and Zul'Aman needs.
| Role | Before launch | First week |
|---|---|---|
| Tank | Extra health and armor, a Black Temple trinket set | Learn your Kalecgos portal number and the Brutallus taunt timing |
| Healer | Mana trinkets, Super Mana Potions | Learn Burn and Conflagration healing |
| Melee | Hit cap, Tier 6 bonus | Learn the Brutallus position and the Twins triangle |
| Ranged | Threat tools, Tier 6 bonus | Learn the Sacrolash ledge and the Fire Bloom spread |
Boosted, returning and alt players
- Fresh 70s can get Shattered Sun reputation, Magisters' Terrace and badges without raiding. Our fresh 70 catch-up guide gives the order.
- Returning players who stopped after 2022 will find the same encounters. Re-read the M'uru guide, though, because it's the fight that stopped most guilds.
- Alts can do Isle dailies for Shattered Sun Pendants long before the raid is on farm.
- Class prep now: the Zul'Aman loot guide lists the Phase 3.5 items each spec wants, and the Warlock, Rogue and Shaman guides cover caps and best-in-slot gear up to Black Temple.
- Alchemists: the four Alchemist Stone recipes at Exalted Shattered Sun build on the Alchemist Stone recipe from the Sha'tar at Revered; see our Sha'tar reputation guide.
Until Sunwell opens, the TBC Anniversary raids page lists independent sellers' runs for the current raids, and the TBC Anniversary hub collects the rest of our guides.
