Is Warlock good in TBC Anniversary?
Yes. Warlocks are steady top damage dealers in every TBC raid and one of the strongest arena classes, and they bring utility no one else has.

What TBC gave Warlocks: Fel Armor (spell damage and health regeneration), the Felguard, better pet AI, simpler raid debuffing through Curse of the Elements, and proper spell power, hit and crit itemization.
What Anniversary realms add: no buff or debuff limit, so your curse and DoTs never get pushed off (Warcraft Tavern); dual talent specialization for a raid and an arena build; and Heroism or Bloodlust on every boss pull, since it hits the whole raid and resets when an encounter ends.

Warcraft Tavern reminds you that talent spells still need their higher ranks trained at a Warlock trainer.
Example: in a raid with an Affliction Warlock, that Warlock owns Curse of the Elements because Malediction makes it stronger. The Destruction Warlock then takes Curse of Recklessness or Curse of Doom.
Warlock spell hit cap and stat priority
Stat priority (Destruction, Warcraft Tavern): Spell Hit to 16% > Spell Damage > Spell Crit > Spell Haste > Intellect > Stamina > Spirit.
Warcraft Tavern says Hit and Spell Hit are separate stats in TBC, so casters need Spell Hit. 12.62 rating equals 1%.

Zul'Aman and badge alternatives (Warcraft Tavern Destruction list):
- Zul'Aman: Hood of Hexing (Hex Lord), Footpads of Madness (Jan'alai).
- G'eras badge vendor: Runed Spell-Cuffs, Fetish of the Primal Gods.
- Other: Tempest of Chaos plus Chronicle of Dark Secrets as a main hand and off hand pair from Hyjal.

Warcraft Tavern says spell hit and spell damage socket bonuses are worth matching, and others are not. Since October 22, Magtheridon's Black Sack and Brilliant Glass can contain epic gems (Blizzard).

TBC Warlock rotation
Pre-pull (Shadow Destruction, Warcraft Tavern):
- Keep Fel Armor up.
- Sacrifice your Succubus for Demonic Sacrifice.
- Know which curse you're assigned.
- Soulstone your assigned target.
- Use a Destruction Potion and trinkets just before the pull.
- Curse while you run into position.

Curse priority:
- Destruction: Elements > Recklessness > Doom.
- Affliction: almost always Elements.

Warcraft Tavern says to refresh DoTs right after they expire rather than clipping them.

Warlock leveling and PvP
Leveling (Warcraft Tavern):
- Unstable Affliction: recommended for most players. Keep DoTs on 2–3 mobs and use Fear.
- Demonology: a good alternative after level 50, with the Felguard.
- Destruction: best for AoE dungeon leveling.

Leveling tips: pull two or three mobs at a time and keep DoTs on all of them, bind a pet attack and follow macro, and turn off the Succubus's Lash of Pain autocast if it breaks your Fear.
PvP:
- Soul Link (SL/SL) is the arena build. Most 3v3 Warlocks run it, which is why armory sites list them as "Demonology". It scores A tier in our PvP tier list and anchors RLD, RLP and MLP.
- Destruction in PvP: you can't reach Soul Link without giving up Conflagrate, so a full Demo/Destro hybrid isn't possible (Warcraft Tavern's Destruction PvP guide).
- Partners and gear: our PvP comps and builds guide lists Warlock partners for 2v2 and 3v3.
- Race: Undead's Will of the Forsaken is the PvP pick.
Avoid these mistakes
- Using regular hit gear numbers. Warlocks need Spell Hit.
- Two Warlocks both running Curse of the Elements.
- Clipping DoTs, or letting them drop for a long time.
- Using rank 1 of a talent spell you never trained up.
Return, boost, or gear an alt
- Returning: recheck spell hit, then get Mana Attuned Band from the ZA timed chest and Hex Shrunken Head from Hex Lord.
