Perion is the Warrior home town of MapleStory Classic World, a cliffside desert town in the north of Victoria Island (MapleClassic Wiki). Every Warrior comes here at level 10. Most players come back at 48 and 50 for some of the best quest rewards on the island. This MapleStory Classic Perion guide lists every NPC, every item the three shops sell after Grand Launch, and all 18 quests that start in town, plus the Grand Launch quest chain that runs through Perion to Stumpy. It ends with a route by level.

Find your way around Perion
The town is built on stepped platforms joined by ropes and stairs. Dances with Balrog sits at the top, in Warriors' Sanctuary (MapleClassic Wiki). MapleStory Quest lists 8 portals, 2 of them hidden, and a render size of 3,520 × 3,247. The BGM is "Nightmare."

The MapleClassic Wiki also marks a Free Market Entrance on its Perion map and says Perion and Henesys are the only towns with Free Market portals. That's probably one of the two hidden portals. MapleStory Quest's six listed connections don't include it. Lewis at the Free Market Entrance gives a level 13 quest that sends you to Dances with Balrog (MapleStory Quest), so the link is real.

River, Weapon Store
River sells one-handed and two-handed swords, axes and blunt weapons, plus spears, polearms, daggers and shields. NiaMeowDB records his complete inventory at 31 items; the prices match MapleStory Quest's community record.

River doesn't sell the top tier. Older community records list a Gladius, Cass, Fireman's Axe, War Hammer, Scimitar, Blue Axe, Mithril Maul, Forked Spear, Mithril Pole Arm and Red Cross Shield at 22,000–26,000 mesos. None of them are in River's 31-item inventory on NiaMeowDB after Grand Launch. Get those weapons from drops, quests, crafting or the Free Market instead; our Smithing guide and spears and polearms guide show the alternatives.

Harry sells 50 Warrior helmets, tops, overalls, bottoms and boots, in male (M) and female (F) versions (NiaMeowDB's complete live list):

Other NPCs here run quests too. Sophia starts the two Sparkling Rock steps of Maya's Weird Medicine chain. Dances with Balrog gives the Free Market tour reply at 13 and the Warrior 2nd job quests at 30 (4,780 EXP each).
Chain 1: Maya and the Weird Medicine (level 21)
The order, from MapleStory Quest's quest pages: Maya (Henesys) → Teo, Finding Sophia (Lith Harbor) → Sophia, Making a Sparkling Rock → Manji, Arcon's Blood? → Manji, Getting Arcon's Blood → Sophia, Making Sparkling Rock → Teo, Delivering the Weird Medicine. The last step gives a Brown Bamboo Hat. Our quests guide totals the chain at 12,529 EXP. It crosses the island three times, so buy two Return Scrolls to Perion (500 each) before you start.
Chain 2: Manji's Old Gladius (level 50)
Old Gladius needs the Weird Medicine chain done. Manji sends you down the Deep Valley road to Chrishrama in Sleepywood. Reawakening the Gladius then asks for a Star Rock, a Piece of Ice, an Ancient Scroll and a Flaming Feather (MapleStory Quest). MapleStory Quest has no Public Release source for the Star Rock or the Piece of Ice. Our jump quests guide covers the Star Rock from Sabitrama's second quest. The third step, Hero's Gladius, ends the chain. Our quests guide gives the chain total as 38,700 EXP, with a choice of Hero's Gladius or Skull Earrings.
Chain 3: Winston's Stumpy chain (level 34, new at Grand Launch)
Doctor Winston on East Rocky Mountain II starts Truth of the Rumor at level 34. Steps 2 to 5 are talk-only and all in Perion: Blackbull, then Ayan, then Manji, then Dances with Balrog in Warriors' Sanctuary. Do them in one pass before you leave town. The chain then sends you to Betty in Ellinia, asks for 100 Very Dry Branches, and ends with killing Stumpy on Parched Land for a Gloves Crit. Rate Scroll: Chaos (henesys.gg; maplestory.quest). The level 48 trio
Blackbull's house and Ayan's two alligator quests open together at 48. Our math: 3 × 11,800 = 35,400 EXP and 3 × 1,506 = 4,518 mesos, plus three rewards you pick. The alligator kills happen in the Kerning swamp, so pair them with our swamp guide. Stone Golem Rubble comes from Stone Golems. MapleStory Quest marks that drop as older-version data.

Starter quest math (ours): the five level 10–11 starters pay 188 + 188 + 188 + 252 + 252 = 1,068 EXP. That's a small part of a level, but the shield, two town scrolls and 25 Blue Potions are worth having at level 10.

Where is the Warrior job advancement in MapleStory Classic?
In Warriors' Sanctuary at the top of Perion. Talk to Dances with Balrog at level 10. There's no quest (MapleClassic Wiki). He also gives the 2nd job quests at 30.
What's the best Perion quest?
For EXP, the level 48 trio (Blackbull and Ayan's two alligator quests) pays 35,400 EXP and three rewards you pick (our math from MapleStory Quest). For items, Manji's Old Gladius chain ends with Hero's Gladius or Skull Earrings.
Where can I learn Smithing and Weaponcrafting?
From Silas Irons and Mr. Thunder in Perion, starting at level 10. Do Silas's apprentice quest first (MapleStory Quest).
Does River sell the Gladius?
No. River's complete 31-item inventory on NiaMeowDB stops at the Eloon for one-handed swords and the Broadsword for two-handed ones. Older community records listing a 22,000-meso Gladius don't match the live shop.
How do I get to Sleepywood from Perion?
Walk through Deep Valley I–III, Perion Dungeon Entrance, Deep Forest and Swampy Land in a Deep Forest. That's the route MapleStory Quest maps for Old Gladius. A cab costs 2,500 mesos (our travel guide).
Does Perion have citizenship or housing?
No. Citizenship and Housing are only in Henesys and Kerning City (Nexon). Ayan and Manji give Henesys citizenship quests instead.
