WoW Forever Merchant's Favor: Crates, Writs, Reputation, Recipes
WoW Forever Merchant's Favor guide: where to turn in Waylaid Crates, Favor per crate, writ reputation, 308 recipes by vendor, the Pack Kodo and titles.

In this guide 12 sections
Merchant's Favor is the WoW Forever currency that buys the new profession recipes, the Pack Kodo mount, a pet, a tabard and profession titles. You earn it by filling Waylaid Crates with materials and handing them in at your faction's trade camp. Reputation with that camp is a separate track that comes from Craftsman's Writs. This WoW Forever Merchant's Favor guide covers both, with the camp locations, crate payouts, every recipe vendor and the cost of each big reward.
The numbers come from the final beta (level cap 30), as read by Wowhead, WoW-Professions and the client data. WoW Forever launches on November 4, 2026, and Blizzard can retune payouts or drop rates at launch, so check the vendor tooltips on day one.
Quick summary
- Merchant's Favor is a currency, not a reputation. You earn it by filling Waylaid Crates and turning them in to the Azeroth Commerce Authority (Alliance) or Durotar Supply and Logistics (Horde) (The Forever Era; Wowhead).
- Reputation comes from Craftsman's Writs. You craft the requested item and deliver it to a customer in the world. Beta players report 75, 125 and 200 reputation for Journeyman, Expert and Artisan writs (WowCamp; Wowhead comments).
- Crates pay 5–30 Favor. Raw-material crates pay half what crafted-goods crates pay, and your first crate's Shipping Label pays 50 Favor and 2,000 reputation once (WowCamp; Wowhead).
- Favor buys 308 recipes plus rewards. Seven vendors per camp sell them, most at 30–90 Favor. The big buys are the Reins of the Pack Kodo (6,000, Exalted, level 60 and Journeyman Riding) and the profession Certifications (1,000), which unlock titles account-wide (Wowhead; WoW-Professions).
- Blizzard calls the two factions "a major source of new tradeskill activities." The Legacy perk Performance Bonus can double the Favor from a crate (Blizzard Legacy article).
Where to turn in Merchant's Favor crates
| Faction | Side | Camp | Crate turn-in | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Azeroth Commerce Authority | Alliance | Three Corners, Redridge Mountains (10.5, 72.7) | Marcy Baker, Inventory Intake (9.6, 70.9) | Wowhead |
| Durotar Supply and Logistics | Horde | The Barrens, outside Crossroads' west gate | Dokimi, Inventory Intake (about 50, 29) | WowCamp; WoWSoD Pro |
Each camp has one recipe vendor per crafting profession plus Cooking, a Supply Officer (Tamelyn Aldridge for Alliance, Gishah for Horde) and a mount vendor (Wowhead; WoWSoD Pro). Wowhead also lists an auctioneer, Auctioneer Quickcoin, at the Alliance camp. Its commenters say his listings don't match the city Auction House.
The client describes the factions this way (The Forever Era):
- Azeroth Commerce Authority: "Originally commissioned to facilitate trade across the Eastern Kingdoms, the ACA now maintains supply routes to Alliance forces worldwide."
- Durotar Supply and Logistics: "The Horde's robust supply network fuels its rapid expansion across Kalimdor and beyond."
How to get Merchant's Favor from Waylaid Crates
| Step | What to do | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Reach level 10 and loot a Waylaid Crate from ordinary world mobs, or buy one on the Auction House | WoWSoD Pro; WowCamp |
| 2 | Right-click it to read the label; it becomes a typed crate | The Forever Era |
| 3 | Fill it with any one bundle from its list | The Forever Era |
| 4 | It turns into a Sealed crate (binds to you) | WoW-Professions |
| 5 | Turn it in to Marcy Baker or Dokimi with the repeatable quest "A Sealed Crate" | Wowhead; WoWSoD Pro |
| 6 | Return the empty Notarized Shipping Container if you get one | The Forever Era |
You don't need the profession yourself; bought materials work (WowCamp). WoWSoD Pro found no daily or weekly limit on "A Sealed Crate" in the data. Merchant's Favor is tracked per character, so each alt earns its own (WoW-Professions).
Crate tiers and payouts:
| Tier | Level | Raw crates (white) | Crafted crates (green) | Favor white / green | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apprentice | 10 | Herbs, Ore, Textiles, Curiosities | Fabrics, Ingots, Parts | 5 / 10 | Wowhead; WowCamp |
| Journeyman | 10 | Same four | Same three | 10 / 20 | Wowhead; WowCamp |
| Expert | 20 | Earthly Herbs, Flowering Herbs, Ore, Textiles, Curiosities | Fabrics, Ingots, Parts | 15 / 30 (few reports) | WowCamp |
| Artisan | 35 | Same as Expert | Same | Not yet reported (the beta capped at 30) | WowCamp |
| Elite | — | Sealed only | — | Unknown | The Forever Era |
Each turn-in also pays a little silver: about 2.5 silver for a white Apprentice crate and 15 silver for a green Expert crate (WowCamp). The client has 30 labeled crates, 15 sealed crates (5 ranks × common, uncommon, rare) and 150 Craftsman's Writs (The Forever Era).
Sample bundles (beta client, The Forever Era):
| Crate | One bundle option |
|---|---|
| Apprentice Ore | 20 Copper Ore or 20 Tin Ore |
| Apprentice Textiles | 40 Linen Cloth or 20 Light Leather |
| Apprentice Ingots | 20 Copper Bar, 20 Tin Bar or 10 Bronze Bar |
| Journeyman Fabrics | 6 Bolt of Woolen Cloth, 10 Bolt of Silk Cloth or 2 Cured Medium Hide |
| Expert Ore | 10 Gold Ore or 20 Mithril Ore |
| Expert Curiosities | 20 Vision Dust, 4 Greater Mystic Essence, 6 Small Radiant Shard or 2 Large Radiant Shard |
| Artisan Textiles | 40 Runecloth, 20 Thick Leather or 20 Rugged Leather |
| Artisan Ingots | 2 Dark Iron Bar, 10 Truesilver Bar or 20 Thorium Bar |
Our reading: since crafted crates pay double, a smith or tailor gets more Favor by turning raw materials into bars or bolts first.
Azeroth Commerce Authority and Durotar Supply reputation: Craftsman's Writs
| Detail | Data | Source |
|---|---|---|
| What a writ is | A crafting order. Open a Sealed Writ to reveal it, craft or buy the item, deliver it to the named customer in the world. Sealed writs drop in the world and sell on the Auction House | The Forever Era; WowCamp; WoW-Professions |
| What you get | Reputation and a Coin Pouch with some silver. Writs pay no Merchant's Favor | WoW-Professions |
| Writs in the client | 150: Alchemy 30, Blacksmithing 30, Engineering 30, Leatherworking 30, Tailoring 31 | The Forever Era |
| Reputation | Journeyman 75, Expert 125, Artisan 200 | WowCamp; Wowhead comment |
| Limit | Each specific writ once a day; different writs don't share a limit | WowCamp |
| First bonus | Shipping Label quest: 50 Favor, 2,000 reputation, 660 XP, once per character | WowCamp; Wowhead; WoWSoD Pro |
| Extra rep option | Forged Delivery Receipt (15 Favor, at Friendly) on an empty crate: 50 reputation | WowCamp |
| Reroll | Forger's Quill (15 Favor, at Honored) swaps a writ for a random one of the same rank | WowCamp |
The scribe who sells the receipt and quill is Kurvelk Shadowhoof for Horde and Dianne Softstep for Alliance (WowCamp). The receipt works on any Waylaid Crate, so the cheapest one on the Auction House will do (WoW-Professions). A writ customer may show no quest marker; right-click them anyway to hand the item in.
The reputation ladder (WowCamp):
| Standing | Total from Neutral | Unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Friendly | 3,000 | Many recipes; the Forged Delivery Receipt |
| Honored | 9,000 | Forger's Quill, Advertising License Application, pricier recipes |
| Revered | 21,000 | Packmule Treat |
| Exalted | 42,000 | Tabard, Pack Kodo |
Our math: the Shipping Label covers 2,000 of the 3,000 for Friendly. The last 1,000 takes 14 Journeyman writs, 8 Expert writs or 5 Artisan writs. Going from Friendly to Exalted (39,000) takes 312 Expert writs or 195 Artisan writs, at one of each specific writ per day.
Spend your Favor: recipe vendors by profession
Both camps sell the same recipes. The crafted armor and weapons bind on pickup, so you make them for yourself rather than for the Auction House (WoW-Professions).
| Profession | Horde vendor | Alliance vendor | Recipes | What they make |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alchemy | Apothecary Durelle | Nina Surefire | 28 | Potions and elixirs |
| Blacksmithing | Gor'mak | Stondry Darkhammer | 61 | Mail and plate sets by role, three weapons |
| Cooking | Aza'bek | Kalsey Sanden | 6 | Mana drinks (Spirit smoothies) |
| Enchanting | Beneris | Alynsia | 39 | Enchants, relics, staves, off-hands and wands |
| Engineering | Fizzlefuse | Fritz Fizzle | 26 | Bombs, goggles, belts, trinkets, gadgets |
| Leatherworking | Pawani | Daniel Stitchsong | 81 | Leather and mail sets for every role, armor kits |
| Tailoring | Jim'bek | Mivin Shadowweave | 67 | Cloth sets by spell school and for healers, two bags |
Source: WoW-Professions vendor lists. Many recipes also need a reputation standing with the camp, so plan writs alongside crates.
Recipe price bands (Wowhead's Alliance vendor lists):
| Skill required | Typical Favor cost |
|---|---|
| 25–145 | 30–45 |
| 165–250 | 60–180 |
| 275–300 | 120–360 |
Big-ticket items (Wowhead):
| Item | Cost | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Reins of the Pack Kodo (mount) | 6,000 | Exalted, level 60 and Journeyman Riding (WoW-Professions) |
| Packmule Treat (Minimule pet) | 1,500 | Revered (WowCamp) |
| Advertising License Application (Tradeskill Sign toy quest) | 1,200 | Honored |
| Faction tabard | 200 | Exalted |
| Profession Certification (title, such as "the Alchemist") | 1,000 | 300 skill |
Certifications exist for Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Leatherworking and Tailoring. A Certification unlocks the title for every character on your account, and a character needs 300 skill in that profession to show it (WoW-Professions). The Tradeskill Sign toy gets one sign per profession, and the client says signs apply to "all characters on your account" (The Forever Era). The Pack Kodo is the only mount here; our mounts and riding guide covers Journeyman Riding and the other new mounts.
Our crate math for the Pack Kodo: 6,000 Favor is 200 green Expert crates at 30 each, or 1,200 white Apprentice crates at 5. A Certification is about 34 green Expert crates.
Pick a plan by profession
| You have | Best Favor source | Why (ours) |
|---|---|---|
| Mining | Ore crates, or smelt for Ingots crates | Ingots pay double |
| Herbalism only | Herbs crates | WoWSoD Pro notes gatherers can feed the system alone |
| Tailoring | Fabrics crates, Tailoring writs | Bolts pay double; 31 Tailoring writs |
| Engineering | Parts crates, Engineering writs | Parts are a green crate type |
| Enchanting | Curiosities crates | Dust and shards are their own crate type |
| Skinning + Leatherworking | Textiles, then Fabrics with cured hides | Cured hides count as Fabrics |
Profession pairs and the new recipes are compared in our professions guide. Legacy tradeskill points are in our Legacy guide. Campfires use profession contributions too; see our camping guide.
Example: a Mage with Tailoring and Enchanting fills Fabrics crates with bolts (double Favor), sends dust and shards into Curiosities crates, and spends the Favor on Tailoring robes for spell damage. Our Mage guide covers that profession pair. A Paladin or Warrior with Blacksmithing does the same with Ingots crates and the plate sets; see the Paladin guide.
Use the Performance Bonus perk
Blizzard's Legacy system article says Performance Bonus "causes you to sometimes gain increased Merchant's Favor." The client text (The Forever Era) gives a 5% chance at rank 1 for 100% more Favor on a crate turn-in, with 3 ranks: 5%, 10% and 15%.
Our math: at rank 3, the average gain is 15% (WowCamp makes the same point). For a 6,000-Favor Pack Kodo, you'd need about 5,220 Favor of base payouts instead of 6,000. That's about 26 fewer green Expert crates, on average.
What to check at launch
A few details weren't in the beta client, so confirm them in game on November 4:
- How many items each writ asks for, and what decides a crate's quality.
- Where Elite crates come from and what blue and Elite sealed crates pay.
- Crate drop rates. Drop rates were the most common beta complaint, with one tester finding about three crates by level 20 (WoWSoD Pro).
- The Horde turn-in spot. Coordinates differ between sources, so use the Crossroads west gate as the landmark.
If you're making alts or coming back
- Alts: the Shipping Label bonus is once per character (WowCamp), so every alt gets its own 50 Favor and 2,000 reputation.
- Season of Discovery veterans: SoD's Waylaid Supplies gave reputation and were turned in at capitals. In Forever, crates give Favor and writs give reputation (WowCamp).
- Levelers: crates and writs drop from ordinary world mobs from level 10, so they come to you while you quest. Our leveling guide covers the routes. The Alliance camp is at Three Corners on the west edge of Redridge, and the Horde camp is just outside the Crossroads' west gate.
- Gold-minded players: the client's own currency text calls Merchant's Favor "worth a considerable amount of gold" (The Forever Era). Don't buy gold to fund crates; see the rules below. The WoW Forever hub collects the rest of our coverage.

FAQ
How do you get Merchant's Favor in WoW Forever? Loot a Waylaid Crate at level 10 or higher, fill it with one bundle from its label, and turn the sealed crate in to Marcy Baker (Alliance) or Dokimi (Horde). Payouts run from 5 to 30 Favor by crate tier and quality (Wowhead; WowCamp).
Where is the Azeroth Commerce Authority? At Three Corners in Redridge Mountains, between Elwynn Forest and Lakeshire (Wowhead). The Horde's Durotar Supply and Logistics camp is outside the Crossroads in the Barrens.
How do you get reputation with the trade factions? Complete Craftsman's Writs: craft the requested item and deliver it to the customer. Journeyman, Expert and Artisan writs give 75, 125 and 200 reputation, with each specific writ once a day (WowCamp; WoW-Professions).
How much is the Pack Kodo? 6,000 Merchant's Favor from Okamache (Horde) or Huey Sunnydale (Alliance). You need Exalted with the camp, level 60 and Journeyman Riding (WoW-Professions).
Do I need a profession to fill crates? No. You can fill a crate with bought materials, and WowCamp says you can also buy a writ's requested item instead of crafting it.
Is Merchant's Favor account-wide? No. Favor is per character (WoW-Professions), but a Certification bought with it unlocks its title, such as "the Blacksmith", for every character on your account once that character has 300 skill.
