MapleStory Classic Accuracy Guide: Formula, Hit Rate, ACC Targets
MapleStory Classic accuracy guide: the class ACC formulas, how level gaps raise misses, accuracy for 100% hits on 37 monsters, where to get ACC.

In this guide 11 sections
Quick summary
- Every class has its own accuracy formula. henesys.gg's client data gives Warriors the most accuracy per DEX. Magicians use INT instead of DEX and get the least per point.
- Monsters above your level get harder to hit fast. By henesys.gg's formula, each level a monster has over you raises the accuracy you need by about 4%. Out-leveling a monster gives no discount.
- Use the table below. It lists the accuracy for 100% hits on 37 training mobs and bosses, at the monster's level, 5 levels below, and 10 levels below (our arithmetic from henesys.gg's formula and monster data).
- Ways to get accuracy: DEX (or INT for Magicians), Precise Strikes, Focus, Nimble Body, Sniper and Supreme Sniper Potions, and accuracy scrolls (our class guides, citing NiaMeowDB and planet-helper).
- Sources disagree on magic. henesys.gg and NiaMeowDB say spells use the same hit check. The MapleClassic Wiki says magic "never miss[es]."
Checked against the Founder's Access build on October 13, 2026. Grand Launch is October 21, 2026; see the end of the guide for what may change.
Calculate your accuracy
| Class | Base accuracy (henesys.gg) | Per DEX/INT | Per level | Per LUK |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Warrior | (1.2 × DEX + 2 × Level + 0.6 × LUK) / 2.5 + 10 | 0.48 | 0.80 | 0.24 |
| Magician | (1.2 × INT + 2 × Level + 0.6 × LUK) / 5.1 + 20 | 0.24 | 0.39 | 0.12 |
| Bowman | (1.2 × DEX + 2 × Level + 0.6 × LUK) / 4.8 + 20 | 0.25 | 0.42 | 0.13 |
| Thief | (1.2 × DEX + 2 × Level + 0.6 × LUK) / 4 + 15 | 0.30 | 0.50 | 0.15 |
| Beginner | (1.2 × DEX + 2 × Level + 0.6 × LUK) / 2.5 + 5 | 0.48 | 0.80 | 0.24 |
The per-point columns are our arithmetic from the formulas. Stats are totals, including gear and buffs. Accuracy from gear and skills is added on top. planet-helper uses the same Warrior, Bowman, and Thief formulas, and NiaMeowDB uses the same Warrior formula. Our Magician guide gives the same per-INT and per-level values.
Example (our arithmetic): a level 30 Warrior with 25 total DEX and 4 LUK has (30 + 60 + 2.4) / 2.5 + 10 = 47 accuracy. That's 100% on Zombie Mushrooms at level 24 and up, but not on Wild Boars (50).
Planner tip: planet-helper notes that "your stat window already adds gear and buffs, so entering total accuracy is the accurate way." The DEX/LUK mode is only an estimate.
Understand the hit roll
henesys.gg's formula from the launch client:
- Base chance = Accuracy × 100 / ((max(0, D) × 2 + 51) × 5), where D is the monster's level minus yours
- Spread = 0.15 + 0.2 / (1 + e^((Base chance − Monster avoid) / 12))
- Hit if a random number from (1 − Spread) to (1 + Spread), times Base chance, is at least the monster's avoid
What this means in practice (henesys.gg):
- Each level the monster has over you raises the accuracy needed "by about 4%."
- Being above the monster "gives no discount."
- A monster with 0 avoid "is never missed."
- Debuffs like Threaten, Slow, and Seal skip this check and use their own success rate.
When your accuracy is close to the monster's avoid, the spread widens. Hit rate drops off gradually instead of all at once, so a small accuracy gain can matter a lot near the line.
Hit your target mobs
Accuracy for 100% hits, rounded up to whole points. This is our arithmetic using henesys.gg's formula and its launch-client monster levels and avoid. It matches henesys.gg's calculator to within 1 point and NiaMeowDB's published targets (27, 44, 47, and 56 for Zombie Mushroom at level 19).

How to read it: at your own level, the 100% target is roughly 3.3 × the monster's avoid. Fighting 10 levels below adds about 40% (our arithmetic). That's why our training guide sends you to mobs at or below your level.
First hits come earlier: you start landing some hits at roughly 60% of the 100% target (our arithmetic from the same formula). A level 30 Bowman hits Jr. Wraith 40% of the time without Focus, according to planet-helper (via our Bowman guide).
Add accuracy from every source
| Source | Accuracy | Class | Cited in |
|---|---|---|---|
| Precise Strikes | +5 → +20 (master 15) | Warrior | Warrior guide (planet-helper launch data) |
| Focus | +1 → +20 (also evasion) | Bowman | Bowman guide |
| Nimble Body | +1 → +15 (also avoid) | Thief | Thief guide |
| Sniper Potion | +5 for 10 min | All | Potions guide |
| Supreme Sniper Potion | +7 for 15 min (Raymond, Henesys citizenship) | All | Warrior and potions guides |
| Hat, shield, gloves, cape scrolls | Accuracy is one option on each | All | Scrolling guide |
| More DEX (INT for Magicians) | See the per-point column above | All | henesys.gg |
- Warriors: planet-helper says Level 15 Blue Mushrooms are 0% hit without Precise Strikes. It also notes that early footage showed +50 at max, but the launch data says +20. See our Warrior guide.
- Thieves: Nimble Body is part of both main skill orders in our Thief guide.
- Scrolls: see our scrolling guide. Pia's Blue Mushroom quest gives a random hat accuracy scroll.
- Potions: compare value in our potions guide.
Choose how to close an accuracy gap
| Method | Cost | Best when |
|---|---|---|
| Train one map lower | Slower kills | Your gap is more than 10 points |
| Accuracy potion | Mesos per use | Short sessions and boss attempts |
| Accuracy skill | SP | You're the class that gets one |
| Accuracy scrolls | Mesos and scroll luck | Long-term gear |
| Extra DEX in AP | Damage you give up | Only up to the target your build needs |
| Level up | Time | You're 1–3 levels under the mob |
Our class guides cite NiaMeowDB's rule: add only enough DEX to meet each weapon's requirement once gear is counted. That's another reason to use potions and skills instead of AP to cover accuracy gaps.
Know how avoid protects you
- Your avoid = floor(LUK / 3) + floor(DEX / 6) + 5 (henesys.gg).
- Monsters always have a chance: a failed dodge roll still lands 8% of the time, so no amount of avoid drops a monster's hit chance below 8%.
- Hard cap: "effective Avoid never passes 80."
- Out-leveling cuts both ways: it lowers the monster's hit score and your effective avoid.
- Magic attacks: our bosses guide cites metaroad saying Jr. Balrog's mostly magic attacks ignore avoid, so HP is your only defense.
Avoid the common mistakes
- Taking a training map's level at face value. Compare its avoid against the table instead.
- Fighting mobs well above your level "on paper." The MapleClassic Wiki's example: a level 50 Assassin with 89 accuracy hits a Red Drake (level 60, avoid 34) only about 14% of the time.
- Adding DEX past your weapon's requirement when a potion or skill would cover it.
- Forgetting that a miss wastes the potion, arrow, or star that went with it (planet-helper). For Warriors, it still costs full MP (NiaMeowDB, via our Warrior guide).
- Trusting one calculator without checking which model it uses.
Plan for returning players and alts
- Veterans: henesys.gg says the EXP table matches pre-Big Bang GMS through level 89. None of our sources says the same about accuracy, so use the Classic formulas above instead of what you remember.
- Alts: use your stat window's total accuracy in any calculator instead of estimating from DEX (planet-helper).
- Powerleveled characters often reach a level before their gear and AP catch up. Check your accuracy against the table before picking a map. Our powerleveling page shows what a service includes.

What may change at Grand Launch
This guide describes the Founder's Access build as it was on October 13, 2026. Re-check these against Nexon's Grand Launch notes on October 21: whether crafting still stops at craft level 8, whether Forgotten Hollow, Orbis and third jobs stay closed, KPQ channel limits, NPC shop stock, and any Founder's Access-only events or packages mentioned here. Nothing here assumes a closed area or feature will open.
FAQ
How is accuracy calculated in MapleStory Classic? By class: for example, Warrior = (1.2 × DEX + 2 × Level + 0.6 × LUK) / 2.5 + 10 (henesys.gg, from the client). By class: for example, Warrior = (1.2 × DEX + 2 × Level + 0.6 × LUK) / 2.5 + 10 (henesys.gg and NiaMeowDB, from the client).
How much accuracy do I need to never miss? About 3.3 × the monster's avoid at equal level, plus about 4% per level it has over you. See the table.
Do Magicians miss? henesys.gg and NiaMeowDB say spells use the same hit check. The MapleClassic Wiki says magic never misses. Test it in-game.
Does being higher level than the monster help? Not for accuracy. Out-leveling gives no discount (henesys.gg).
What's the fastest accuracy fix? A Sniper or Supreme Sniper Potion (+5 or +7) or your class skill (our class guides).
Can I avoid every hit with enough avoid? No. Monsters land at least 8% of the time, and effective avoid caps at 80.
