MapleStory Classic Patch Notes: v1.0.0, v1.1.0 and Every Fix
MapleStory Classic patch notes tracker: Grand Launch v1.0.0 changes, the Oct 22 Debt System, Oct 28 Halloween update and the Oct 29 v1.1.0 maintenance.

In this guide 15 sections
Checked against v1.0.0 on October 29, 2026.
This MapleStory Classic patch notes tracker lists every Classic World update since Founder's Access opened on October 6, 2026. It covers the Grand Launch v1.0.0 patch on October 21, the October 22 maintenance that added the Debt System, the October 28 Halloween update, and the v1.1.0 maintenance Nexon has scheduled for October 29. Each entry says what changed and who it affects, so you can skip what doesn't touch your character.
The scope is Global MapleStory Classic World (world: Windia). Patches for the main MapleStory game, such as v.271.5.0 on the same October 29 date, are left out because Nexon says they don't affect Classic World.
Quick summary
- Current version: v1.0.0, live since Grand Launch on October 21, 2026. v1.1.0 maintenance is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, 5:00–9:00 AM PDT; Nexon will post the full notes after it ends (Nexon).
- v1.0.0 headline changes: 40 channels, the Excavation Site and the Stumpy field boss, Housing, the Lie Detector Test, a trade lock on new accounts, level 15 Megaphones, and buffs to Iron Body, the HP and MP Recovery passives and Final Attack's 60-second window.
- October 22: the Debt System, which collects mesos from accounts caught in real-money trading and blocks trading until the debt is repaid (Nexon).
- October 28: the Halloween events (Malady's candies and Orange Slimes in towns) and a Halloween Cash Shop crate, with no maintenance or new client (Nexon; henesys.gg).
- Still not in the game: third job, Orbis and El Nath. Forgotten Hollow opens in November, and the level cap is 100 (Nexon).

Grand Launch opened Classic World to everyone with no Founder's Package needed. Characters from Founder's Access carried over; there was no wipe (henesys.gg). Nexon's Grand Launch maintenance notice and release notes list the changes below.
New areas, bosses and quests
- Excavation Site, a new Perion area with Ghost Stump, Wooden Mask, Rocky Mask, Skeledog, Mummydog, Skeleton Soldier, Officer Skeleton and Commander Skeleton. See our Excavation Site guide.
- Stumpy, a level 35 field boss in Parched Land past East Rocky Mountain. The challenge boss list is now Mano, Stumpy, Mushmom, Shade, Zombie Mushmom and Jr. Balrog. Doctor Winston's Truth of the Rumor chain leads to it (henesys.gg). Our Stumpy boss guide covers the fight.
- The Murky Swamp II in the Kerning City area, new quests on Victoria Island, and new drops on some Victoria Island monsters (Nexon).
Channels, Free Market and party quests
- Windia expanded to 40 channels.
- Kerning City Party Quest runs on channels 3–12. The Companion's Magic Box gives fewer gem and Black Crystal ores and can now drop the Lakelis Statue decoration (Nexon). See our KPQ guide.
- Free Market rooms 12–20 were added.
New systems
- Housing in Henesys and Kerning City, bought with mesos at Citizenship grade Visitor or higher and shared by every character on the account. Every crafting discipline now makes a house station, and Smithing and Woodcrafting make furniture (henesys.gg). Our housing guide covers prices and furniture.
- Lie Detector Test, sold in the Citizen General Store: account-bound, 7-day duration. A character who fails its minigame goes to the Truth Booth, where they can't move, chat, use skills or items, or join content for a set time (Nexon). Our bots guide explains when to use it.
- New-account trade lock: trading opens 24 hours after a character on the account reaches level 15.
- Megaphones need level 15, up from 10, from 11:00 AM PDT on October 21. Megaphones already in an inventory at that time kept level 10; ones bought, earned or redeemed from coupons later need 15 (Nexon's Megaphone notice).
- Interface: a Rates Info button on probability items in the Cash Shop, equipment bonus stats in the Character Stats window, an option to always show item names in English, and Beauty Album slot films.
Skill changes in v1.0.0
| Job | Skill | Before | v1.0.0 (Nexon) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warrior | Improved HP Recovery (from items) | +5–20% | +20–50% |
| Warrior | Iron Body (Weapon DEF) | +5–25% | +20–40% |
| Magician | Improved MP Recovery (from items) | +5–20% | +10–25% |
| Thief | Dark Sight | Invisible to non-party players | Semi-transparent to all players |
| Warrior, Bowman | Final Attack (all weapon types) | Window lasted 30 seconds for some jobs | Lasts 60 seconds, as intended |
Nexon lists the Final Attack change as a bug fix. henesys.gg confirms it applies to every Final Attack: Sword, Axe, Blunt Weapon, Spear, Polearm, Bow and Crossbow.
Monsters and drops
- Potion drop rates rose for monsters level 10 to 30.
- Field boss respawn times are more randomized.
- The stagger threshold on Copper Drake, Tortie, Drake, Red Drake and Wild Kargo was too low and was raised, so weak hits no longer stagger them (Nexon).
Bug fixes that change play
- Poison Breath no longer uses MP twice or deals more than 1 damage to poison-immune monsters.
- The Green Jester Hat now has its +18 Magic Defense.
- The 2nd job advancement no longer fails and eats the quest item when your Use inventory is full.
- The rope to the top-right platform of The Murky Swamp can be climbed, and players and monsters no longer walk off-screen in Sleepy Dungeon II.
- Pets on Auto Move no longer keep trying to loot items on another platform.
Launch events
| Event | Dates (UTC) | Who | Reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Journey Begins | Oct 21 – Nov 18 | Lv 10+ | 14 check-in rewards for 30 Maple Leaves a day, once per account |
| The Marks We Leave Behind | Oct 21 – Nov 18 | Lv 25+ | Jay's chain in Henesys to the Mark of the Beta |

Our Mark of the Beta guide and Halloween event guide walk through the quests.
Read the October 22 maintenance notes: the Debt System
Nexon took the servers down on October 22 from 1:00 PM PDT. The maintenance notice gives "the larger than expected number of players" after launch as the reason. Three changes came with it:
- The Debt System. Accounts involved in real-money trading or trades with illegitimately obtained mesos or items owe those mesos as debt. While in debt you can't use a Store Permit or Hired Merchant, trade, send Cash Shop gifts or drop items. A "Repay Illegal Mesos" button stays on screen; you repay in town from the mesos in your inventory, and the limits lift once the debt hits zero. Errors go to Player Support (Nexon's Debt System notice).
- Signature Eye Color Coupon: Green can be picked again.
- KPQ coupons: accounts still under the trade lock can drop Kerning City Party Quest coupons and passes again.
The Debt System matters to anyone buying from player shops. Our Free Market guide covers trading inside the rules.
Read the October 28 Halloween update
There was no maintenance or new client on October 28. The Halloween events in the launch client switched on at 00:00 UTC, and the Cash Shop rotated (henesys.gg):
- Malady's Halloween Candies: collect 100 candies from level 10+ monsters for Malady in Henesys or Kerning City, then deliver three pouches for the Pumpkin Basket.
- Slime Attack: level 20 Orange Slimes spawn in Henesys, Ellinia, Kerning City and Perion and drop candies plus Red, Blue and Green Malady's Candy.
- Cash Shop: the Halloween Mystery Fashion Crate (4,900 NX, until November 4 at 7:59 AM UTC) and new Mystery Hair and Face coupons (until November 11). Nexon corrected the post at 4:30 AM UTC on October 28: the Rockstar Hair isn't in this rotation; Cecelia Twist is (Nexon's October 28 Cash Shop notice).
Our Cash Shop guide compares the crates.
Read the October 15 patch notes
The October 15 minor patch (8:00–11:00 AM PDT) was the last Founder's Access update, and the one that changed results most.
| Change | Source | Who it affects |
|---|---|---|
| Monsters killed by damage over time (burn, bleed) no longer give double EXP and drops | Nexon | Fire/Poison Wizards and anyone finishing kills with DoT |
| Steal no longer drops mesos or items, steals, or grants its buff on a miss | Nexon | Bandits |
| Bosses can no longer be knocked back by certain skills | Nexon | Boss parties |
| 100% Enhancement scrolls work again (the "Lucky Day effect" blocked them) | Nexon | Scrollers |
| Store Permit shops can't open under Dark Sight; unsold items return at once | Nexon | Shop owners |
| Korean (Beta) language; chat limited to English, Spanish and Korean characters | Nexon | Everyone |
| Sleepy Dungeon I, II, III and V hold fewer monsters and respawn slower (V: 31 to 20 monsters) | henesys.gg client data | Sleepywood trainers |
| The Filing Error (Caretaker's Ledger) needs 25 Torn Ledger Pages, down from 50 | henesys.gg client data | Ellinia questers |
| Sanctuary Entrance II rebuilt lower; Wild Kargo's Area has 14 spawn points, up from 13 | henesys.gg client data | Drake and Kargo trainers |
Nexon also fixed seven client disconnects: Arrow Bomb and Poison Breath attacks, pet looting, a cancelled trade, 0-stack throwing stars in storage, the first-login popup, and Heal near Zombie Mushrooms in the Ant Tunnel. The patch fixed invisible platforms in West Rocky Mountain IV and the Dark Sight description (it needs Level 3 Disorder). The spawn cuts are covered in our Sleepywood guide, and the Caretaker's Ledger change in our Caretaker's Ledger guide.
Read the October 8 maintenance notes
| Change (Nexon) | What to do |
|---|---|
| Coconut sells to NPCs for 10 mesos, down from 145 | Stop farming Coconuts for shop sales |
| Cleric's Heal range was wider than intended, and Heal could be cast without enough MP; both fixed | Stand closer to your party and carry MP potions |
| Some players couldn't connect to channels 1–4; fixed | None |
| KPQ limited to channels 3–6 because channels 1 and 2 were crowded (Founder's Access notes update) | Superseded: KPQ now runs on 3–12 |
Adjust your job after the patches
| Job | What changed since October 6 | What it means |

Know what is still not in MapleStory Classic
- Third job, Orbis and El Nath are held back. Nexon says it will release them gradually.
- Forgotten Hollow opens in November; Nexon says the path "hasn't been discovered yet". Community trackers date it to November 18, and its monsters are already in the client (henesys.gg). Our Forgotten Hollow guide tracks it.
- The level cap is 100, and 2nd job at level 30 is the last advancement.
- Crafting stops at craft level 8, so level 9 and 10 recipes can't be made yet (henesys.gg).
The MapleStory Classic roadmap covers what Nexon has said about later updates.
