MapleStory Classic Mushmom Guide: Hidden House, Respawn, Drops
MapleStory Classic Mushmom guide: the hidden portal off Pig Park II, 1-hour timer, accuracy to hit, the lunge attack, Fire weakness, Iron Hogs.

In this guide 14 sections
Quick summary
- Mushmom is a level 40 boss with 34,440 HP and 340 EXP, weak to Fire. It spawns once in Someone Else's House, a hidden map off Pig Park II near Henesys (NiaMeowDB, MapleClassic Wiki, henesys.gg).
- The portal isn't drawn. From Henesys, go through An Empty House, Pig Park and Pig Park II, then press up at the top right of Pig Park II (Metaroad).
- The game timer is 1 hour. Live respawns can run to about 90 minutes, which is a community estimate (NiaMeowDB, Metaroad).
- The room is full of Iron Hogs with 500 physical defense. Magic and Lightning handle them better than weapons do (MapleClassic Wiki).
- Thieves come here for Ilbi Throwing Stars (+27 W.ATK). No shop sells them. Everyone else comes for the Mushmom Spore that Jane's level 44 quest asks for.
Checked against the Founder's Access build on October 13, 2026. Grand Launch is October 21, 2026; see the end of the guide for what may change.
Find Someone Else's House
Metaroad's route, which matches the wiki's note that Henesys is four maps away:
| Step | From | Portal | To |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Henesys | Left portal | An Empty House |
| 2 | An Empty House | Left portal | Pig Park |
| 3 | Pig Park | Right portal | Pig Park II |
| 4 | Pig Park II | Hidden portal, top right | Someone Else's House |
Metaroad warns that "None of those portals are drawn, so walk along the edges and press up." The wiki says Someone Else's House "opens only onto Pig Park II," and Mushmom spawns on no other map.
What's in the room, per the wiki's map page:
| Monster | Level | HP | EXP | Spawns | Respawn |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Iron Hog | 28 | 572 | 52 | 13 | 1 sec |
| Fairy 2 | 29 | 593 | 54 | 2 | 180 sec |
| Mushmom | 40 | 34,440 | 340 | 1 | 3,600 sec |
NiaMeowDB lists the map at a 1.3x mob rate, with Mushmom as 1 of 16 spawns.
Deal with the Iron Hogs
The Iron Hogs are the part most guides skip. The wiki lists them at 500 physical defense and 100 magic defense, weak to Lightning, and calls them "notoriously difficult for physical attackers to damage." They respawn every second (wiki map page), so you can't clear the room and keep it clear.
What that means for you:
- Magicians clear the room easily. Ice/Lightning Wizards hit their Lightning weakness. Our Ice/Lightning guide covers Thunder Bolt.
- Warriors, Bowmen and Thieves should ignore the hogs and focus Mushmom. Hogs will still touch you, so bring potions.
- A party can split the work. Metaroad says "a level 30 party can clear the room and still get the boss."
Read Mushmom's stats
| Stat | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Level | 40 | Wiki, NiaMeowDB |
| HP / MP | 34,440 / 200 | Wiki |
| EXP | 340 | Wiki, NiaMeowDB (376 in COT2) |
| Weapon ATK / Magic ATK | 532 / 585 | Wiki, NiaMeowDB |
| Touch damage | 585–797 | NiaMeowDB |
| Physical DEF / Magic DEF | 15 / 15 | Wiki, NiaMeowDB |
| Accuracy | 130 | Wiki, NiaMeowDB |
| Avoidability | 29 | Wiki, NiaMeowDB |
| Speed | 5 (fast) | Wiki, NiaMeowDB |
| Knockback threshold | 2,750 damage | Wiki, NiaMeowDB, henesys.gg |
| Weakness | Fire | Wiki, NiaMeowDB, henesys.gg |
| Damage reduction | Weapon 13%, magic 13% | henesys.gg |
| HP recovery | +344 HP per tick | NiaMeowDB |
A few of these change the fight:
- It's fast and it jumps. NiaMeowDB says Mushmom "can hop to a floor above or below its spawn point." Unlike Mano, it won't stay on one platform for you to kite.
- Knockback 2,750 means very few level 40 hits will stagger it.
- It heals 344 HP per tick, almost five times Mano's 74. NiaMeowDB doesn't give the interval, but a slow fight loses ground.
- HP per EXP is 101.29, ranked #176 of 182 by NiaMeowDB. As with Mano, you're here for drops, not EXP.
Dodge the lunge
NiaMeowDB lists one attack besides touch damage:
| Attack | Damage | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| Touch | 585–797 | Any contact with its 119 × 110 px touch zone |
| Lunge (Attack 1) | 125% of its P.DMG (about 665 base, by our arithmetic from 532) | 800 ms telegraph, 1.85 sec cycle, 3 sec recovery |
NiaMeowDB calls it a jump attack that Mushmom uses to "lunge at you and close distance fast"; Metaroad describes the same jump. Watch for the 800 ms wind-up. Then use the 3-second recovery to get your hits in or reposition. Mushmom is auto-aggressive, so it starts the fight as soon as it sees you.
Metaroad lists a magic hit of "about 880" as well. NiaMeowDB lists a Magic ATK of 585 but no magic attack. Plan for HP of at least 880 either way.
Check your accuracy
| Your level | NiaMeowDB: accuracy to never miss | Metaroad: accuracy to never miss |
|---|---|---|
| 40 | 95 | 79 |
| 35 | 114 | 95 |
| 30 | 132 | 110 |
Plan for NiaMeowDB's higher numbers. Metaroad adds that fighting 5 levels under a boss "takes about 11% off every hit, and ten under takes a third," and that Magicians "get far less accuracy per point." A mage at 30 should check this before walking in. Our accuracy guide has the formula.
Count your hits
Plain arithmetic on 34,440 HP, rounded up. It doesn't model misses, regen, or the Fire bonus:
| Damage per hit (after Mushmom's reduction) | Hits to kill |
|---|---|
| 300 | 115 |
| 500 | 69 |
| 800 | 44 |
| 1,200 | 29 |
| 2,000 | 18 |
To use it, take your damage on a regular monster near level 40 and take off about 13% (henesys.gg). Fire attacks do more, since Mushmom is Fire-weak, but none of our sources give the multiplier, so we leave it out. Multiply the hit count by your MP cost per attack, and compare it with your MP pool plus potions. Our potions guide compares potions by meso value.
Pick a plan by class
The plans below follow the numbers in the table; treat them as a starting point, not a tested clear:
| Class | Approach | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Fire/Poison Wizard | Fire Arrow on Mushmom | Fire Arrow hits Mushmom's Fire weakness. See our Fire/Poison guide. |
| Ice/Lightning Wizard | Thunder Bolt the hogs, then single-target Mushmom | Iron Hogs are Lightning-weak. |
| Assassin | Range it with stars | Ilbi farming is the reason to come. See our Assassin guide. |
| Warrior | Tank and burst | Touch damage up to 797, so bring HP and potions. Ignore the hogs. |
| Bowman | Shoot from a different floor, then reposition when it jumps | Mushmom jumps floors, so no kiting spot stays good for long. |
| Cleric | Heal the party | NiaMeowDB lists Mushmom as a Plant, not undead, so Holy isn't a weakness. Heal keeps the party up. |
| Party at Lv 30–40 | One player clears hogs, the rest focus Mushmom | Metaroad's level 30 party suggestion. Being 10 under costs a third of your damage. |
Time the respawn
| Source | Respawn |
|---|---|
| NiaMeowDB | 1 hour base timer, live window 1 to 1.5 hours ("unconfirmed"). It says "channel surfing matters." |
| Metaroad Boss Timer | Game timer 1 hour, 60–90 minute window. It says players "have reported Mushmom coming back closer to 90 minutes." |
| MapleClassic Wiki | 60 minutes (3,600 sec on the map page) |
| henesys.gg | 1 hour |
Use the same channel rotation as for Mano. Kill it and note the time, check the next channel, and come back about 60 minutes later. Expect it as late as 90. The Iron Hogs respawn every second, so you can train on them while you wait.
Know the drops and what they're for
| Drop | What it is | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Mushmom Spore | Etc item. Sells for 400 mesos, stacks to 200 (wiki). henesys.gg lists it as Mushmom's drop. | Jane's Second Challenge (below) |
| Ilbi Throwing Stars | Throwing star: Lv 10, +27 W.ATK, stacks to 800, sells for 20,000 mesos, recharges at 0.9 mesos per star (wiki, pre-launch data) | Assassin ammo. Metaroad: "No shop sells them, and at launch only Mushmom and Zombie Mushmom drop them." |
No source publishes drop rates. NiaMeowDB's confirmed-drop list is crowd-voted. Its separate "MSEA reference" list of 16 items includes Red-Hearted Earrings, Steel Tower Shield, Fairy Wand and several Intermediate scrolls. NiaMeowDB labels that list historical, from old MapleSEA tables. Don't farm for any of those until players confirm them in Classic World.
Jane's Second Challenge: level 44, after Jane's First Challenge, started from Jane in Lith Harbor.
| Requirement | Amount |
|---|---|
| Defeat Wraith | 50 |
| Defeat Malady | 50 |
| Drake's Blood | 3 |
| Mushmom Spore | 1 |
| Medicine With Weird Vibes | 25 |
| Malady's Experimental Frog | 25 |
| Rewards | 9,940 EXP, 1,389 mesos, 15 Power Elixirs |
You need just 1 Spore, so one kill can cover it.
See what changed since the closed test
NiaMeowDB's change history shows Mushmom was retuned at launch:
| Stat | COT2 | Launch |
|---|---|---|
| HP | 36,660 | 34,440 |
| EXP | 376 | 340 |
| P.DMG / M.DMG | 403 / 403 | 532 / 585 |
| P.DEF / M.DEF | 10 / 10 | 15 / 15 |
| Accuracy | 129 | 130 |
| Knockback threshold | 1,500 | 2,750 |
| HP recovery | 188 | 344 |
It has less HP, but it hits about a third harder and heals faster. Guides written before launch understate the damage.
Plan alts and returning players
- Returning from the closed tests? Mushmom pays 340 EXP now, not 376, and it hits harder (NiaMeowDB). Metaroad says the first closed test used a 30-minute timer. It's 1 hour now.
- Returning from old MapleStory? Don't assume old drop tables carry over. NiaMeowDB keeps its MSEA list separate for that reason.
- Leveling an Assassin alt? An Ilbi stack is worth the trip. Recharging costs 0.9 mesos per star (wiki).
- Doing Jane's quests on an alt? One Spore is all you need.
- Short on time? Our bosses guide, MapleStory Classic hub and powerleveling page cover the next steps.

What may change at Grand Launch
This guide describes the Founder's Access build as it was on October 13, 2026. Re-check these against Nexon's Grand Launch notes on October 21: whether crafting still stops at craft level 8, whether Forgotten Hollow, Orbis and third jobs stay closed, KPQ channel limits, NPC shop stock, and any Founder's Access-only events or packages mentioned here. Nothing here assumes a closed area or feature will open.
FAQ
Where is Mushmom in MapleStory Classic? In Someone Else's House. From Henesys, go left to An Empty House, left to Pig Park, right to Pig Park II, then take the hidden portal at the top right (Metaroad).
How long is Mushmom's respawn? The game timer is 1 hour. Players report up to about 90 minutes, which is a community estimate (NiaMeowDB, Metaroad).
What is Mushmom weak to? Fire, per NiaMeowDB, the wiki and henesys.gg. Metaroad's Sep 30 guide still says neutral.
What level should I be for Mushmom? Level 40 at full damage. Metaroad says a level 30 party can do it. Check accuracy first: NiaMeowDB lists 95 at level 40 to never miss.
Does Mushmom drop Ilbi stars? Metaroad says Mushmom and Zombie Mushmom are the only Ilbi sources at launch. No drop rate is published.
What is the Mushmom Spore for? Jane's Second Challenge in Lith Harbor, a level 44 quest that needs 1 Spore. It pays 9,940 EXP, 1,389 mesos and 15 Power Elixirs (wiki).
Why can't I hurt the pigs in Mushmom's room? Iron Hogs have 500 physical defense. Magic, especially Lightning, works much better.
