Florina Beach is the dead-end resort town south of Lith Harbor, and the six Florina Road maps behind it are one of the calmest places on Victoria Island to train from the mid-30s to 50. This MapleStory Classic Florina Beach guide covers the ferry in and out, every training map by level, the stats that decide whether your class can farm each monster, Riel's coconut quests and the beach shop.
Quick summary
- Florina Beach is a quiet town with six training maps. They run from Lorangs (Lv 38) through Torties (Lv 46) to Clangs (Lv 49), all strung behind one shop-equipped beach (MapleStory Quest).
- Train at Lorang Lorang from 36 to 40. It holds 36 monsters at once and gives 2,794 EXP per clear (planet-helper); 35 of its 40 spawn points are Lorangs (NiaMeowDB). NiaMeowDB prefers the next map toward town, A Look-Out Shed Around the Beach, because it's 1 portal from the shop.
- From 41 to 50, train at Hot Sand. It's planet-helper's top pick for both brackets: 22 Torties at once, and 2,562 EXP per clear at 46–50.
- Riel's four-quest chain pays 29,240 EXP and 15,210 mesos at level 37, plus 105 Blue Potions. It needs 65 coconuts, 55 Lupin's Bananas, 100 Lorang Claws and 70 Clang Claws (MapleStory Quest; totals are our sums).
- Coconuts come from breakable coconut objects, not monsters. NiaMeowDB lists 92 of them across the six maps, with the most on Hot Sand (23).
Get to Florina Beach
| Route | Cost | Notes | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pason's ferry from Lith Harbor | 1,500 mesos | Instant trip to Florina Beach | MapleClassic Wiki, via our travel guide |
| Pison in Florina Beach | — | The Tour Guide at the west end of the beach returns you to where you came from | MapleClassic Wiki, NiaMeowDB |
| Walk | — | Florina Beach links only to A Look-Out Shed Around the Beach, so the maps form a dead end | MSQ |
Return Scrolls don't work in town. NiaMeowDB's Florina Beach map page flags the beach as a map where Return Scrolls do nothing, so leave through Pison or walk out of town before you read one. Lith Harbor is the usual way in, and our Lith Harbor guide covers Pason and the port's shops. All the cab and scroll routes are in our travel guide.
Know the beach NPCs
| NPC | Role | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Valen | Grocer with 25 items, including potions and food | MSQ, NiaMeowDB |
| Riel | Gives the Special Taste of Florina Beach I–IV chain | MSQ |
| Pison | Tour Guide | MapleClassic Wiki |
| Roel, Rael | No quests or shop recorded | MSQ |
Valen's launch prices (NiaMeowDB):
- Potions: Red Potion 50, Orange 150, White 350, Blue 220.
- Water: Pure Water 1,120.
- Food: Fried Chicken 60, Hot Dog 180, Pizza 252, Hamburger 350, Hot Dog Supreme 480, Unagi 1,000, Ice Cream Pop 1,500, Watermelon 1,920, Red Bean Sundae 2,250.
- Ammo: arrows 1 each, Subi Throwing-Stars 500.
A full potion shop this close to a 36–50 grind is the beach's main advantage over the Kerning subway, where potions are 5–7 portals away (see our subway guide).

Know the Florina Beach monsters: HP, defense and accuracy
| Monster | Lv | HP | EXP | Touch damage | P.DEF / M.DEF | Avoid | ACC to never miss at its level | Element |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lupin | 37 | 1,336 | 75 | 243–284 | 0 / 30 | 27 | 89 | — |
| Lorang | 38 | 1,714 | 78 | 248–289 | 0 / 30 | 24 | 79 | Weak to Lightning |
| Tortie | 46 | 2,671 | 111 | 291–340 | 30 / 0 | 25 | 82 | — |
| Clang | 49 | 2,899 | 127 | 308–359 | 15 / 15 | 30 | 98 | Weak to Lightning |
All figures are from NiaMeowDB's monster pages (for example Tortie), read October 28, 2026. The accuracy column assumes you're the monster's level; each level below it raises the number, which our accuracy guide explains.
What the table means in practice:
- Lupins throw bananas from range, so they hit you on platforms you haven't reached yet (NiaMeowDB).
- Torties have 30 physical defense and zero magic defense, so NiaMeowDB names Magician the best class to train on them. Their knockback threshold is 450 damage, which means a weak hit won't stagger one.
- Clangs are the hardest hitters, at up to 359 touch damage, and they need the most accuracy of the four.
- Lorangs and Clangs are weak to Lightning, so Ice/Lightning wizards get the bonus on two of the four monsters (see our Ice/Lightning guide).
Example: a level 44 Bowman with 85 accuracy can hit Lorangs reliably but will miss Clangs often. Lorang Lorang is the better map until the accuracy number from the table is within reach.
Follow the beach route by level
- 36–38: A Look-Out Shed Around the Beach. It's 1 portal from Valen. planet-helper notes 24 at once, fewer than the next map, but says an overseas source ranks it first.
- 38–41: Lorang Lorang. This is planet-helper's 36–40 pick, at 36 at once, 2,794 EXP per clear and about 86 clears to level at 38. Start Riel's chain here.
- 41–46: Hot Sand. planet-helper's top 41–45 pick. At those levels, one clear is 1,607 EXP counting only Torties.
- 46–50: Hot Sand, or Lorang and Clang. Hot Sand rises to 2,562 per clear. NiaMeowDB rates Lorang and Clang at a 1.82M EXP/hr ceiling with Clangs as the main target.
- After 50: move to the Kerning subway Wraith maps, Sleepy Dungeon V or the Stone Golem maps north of Ellinia (our Golem's Temple guide).
The full level-by-level ladder, with the alternatives at each bracket, is in our training guide for levels 1–70.
Finish Riel's Special Taste chain
| Quest | Needs | Reward | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Special Taste of Florina Beach I | 10 coconuts | 7,310 EXP, 1,170 mesos, 15 Blue Potions | MSQ |
| Special Taste of Florina Beach II | 15 coconuts, 15 Lupin's Bananas, 30 Lorang Claws | 7,310 EXP, 3,510 mesos, 30 Blue Potions | MSQ |
| Special Taste of Florina Beach III | 30 coconuts, 30 bananas, 60 Lorang Claws, 60 Clang Claws | 7,310 EXP, 7,020 mesos, 30 Blue Potions | MSQ |
| Special Taste of Florina Beach IV | 10 of each of the four items | 7,310 EXP, 3,510 mesos, 30 Blue Potions | MSQ |
| Chain total (our sums) | 65 coconuts, 55 bananas, 100 Lorang Claws, 70 Clang Claws | 29,240 EXP, 15,210 mesos, 105 Blue Potions | — |
The Public Release raised the rewards. Part I went from 4,612 to 7,310 EXP and from 1,082 to 1,170 mesos compared with the second closed test (MSQ client diff).
Expected kills (our estimate on OSMLib reference rates). Lupin's Banana, Lorang Claw and Clang Claw each drop at 40% (NiaMeowDB, OSMLib). That works out to about 138 Lupins, 250 Lorangs and 175 Clangs. You'll kill most of those anyway while training, so take Part I at 37 and keep the claws. Our Etc keep list covers which other drops are worth a slot.
Where coconuts come from. MapleStory Quest and the wiki list no monster that drops coconuts. NiaMeowDB lists three Coconut breakables (3–4 hits each) on all six Florina Road maps. The drop is community-sourced, so we're inferring the item comes from them.
| Map | Coconut placements | Respawn | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hot Sand | 23 | 60s | NiaMeowDB |
| A Look-Out Shed Around the Beach | 16 | 30–60s | NiaMeowDB |
| Lorang and Clang | 16 | 60–90s | NiaMeowDB |
| Clang and Lorang | 13 | 60s | NiaMeowDB |
| Lorang Lorang | 13 | 60–90s | NiaMeowDB |
| Lorang Lorang Lorang | 11 | 60–130s | NiaMeowDB |

Compare Florina with other 36–50 spots
| Option | Levels | Strength | Weakness | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lorang Lorang | 36–40 | 36 at once, 2 portals from potions | Lorang drops are lower value (~17,000 mesos per 1,000 kills) | planet-helper, our 30–45 meso guide |
| Kerning subway Line 2 <Area 1> | 31–38 | 2.15M ceiling | Crowded; 5 portals to potions | NiaMeowDB |
| Hot Sand | 41–50 | planet-helper's top pick both brackets | Tortie physical defense | planet-helper, NiaMeowDB |
| Kerning Wraith maps | 46–55 | Big ceilings | 6–7 portals to potions | NiaMeowDB |
| Party on Lorang Lorang | 36–40 | 36 monsters to share | Ferry costs for each member | Our party guide |
The meso value of Tortie and Clang drops is in our 45–50 meso guide.
Avoid these Florina mistakes
- Turning in claws one quest at a time from a short stack. Parts II–IV ask for 160 Lorang and Clang Claws combined (our sums). Keep every claw from level 37 on.
- Taking the ferry without potions. Valen sells them, but stocking up in Lith Harbor first means you don't have to walk back to the beach on your first trip.
- Melee-only Hot Sand at 41. Tortie's physical defense and ranged shots slow physical classes (NiaMeowDB). Use Lorang Lorang until your damage catches up.
- Ignoring the hidden street. Lorang Lorang Lorang mixes Torties into a small Lorang map and has 11 coconut placements. It's often the emptiest map on the road.
- Forgetting the ferry cost for parties. Each member pays 1,500 mesos per trip, so agree on a session length first.
- Reading a Return Scroll on the beach. It does nothing in Florina Beach (NiaMeowDB). Use Pison, or walk to A Look-Out Shed first.
Alts, returning players and new accounts
- Returning players get the same Lorang-to-Clang ladder they remember. The new parts are the coconut breakables and the bigger Riel rewards.
- Alts can run the Riel chain as a 29,240-EXP bonus that fits right into normal training, which is worth it on every character that passes 37.
- Players in their 40s can use Florina to avoid the Kerning subway crowds. Budget 1,500 mesos for each ferry ride.
- New accounts can't trade until 24 hours after a character reaches level 15 (Nexon), so plan to use your own claws and potions rather than buy them on day one.

What changed at Florina Beach at Grand Launch
Grand Launch (v1.0.0, October 21, 2026) left the six Florina Road maps, Riel's rewards and Valen's prices as they were. The changes that touch a Florina session come from Nexon's Grand Launch maintenance notes and release notes:
| Change | What it means here |
|---|---|
| Tortie's stagger threshold, set too low by mistake, was corrected | Torties no longer flinch from small hits, so knockback is a weaker defense on Hot Sand |
| Final Attack lasts 60 seconds, as intended, instead of 30 | Warriors and Bowmen keep the extra hits up across a full Lorang Lorang rotation |
| Iron Body +20% to +40% Weapon DEF; Warrior potion recovery +20% to +50% | Melee classes lose fewer potions to Clang touch damage |
| More potion drops, but only from monsters level 10–30 | Doesn't apply here: every Florina monster is level 37 or higher |
| Windia expanded to 40 channels | Easier to find an empty Hot Sand |
| Lie Detector Test and Truth Booth | A suspected bot on your map can be tested; see our bots guide |
| New accounts can't trade until 24 hours after a character reaches level 15 | Sell or trade claws only once the lock lifts |
The Halloween Orange Slimes (October 28 to November 18) spawn only in Henesys, Ellinia, Kerning City and Perion, not here. Nexon has scheduled v1.1.0 maintenance for October 29, so check its notes before a long session. The MapleStory Classic hub collects every guide for the game.
FAQ
How do you get to Florina Beach in MapleStory Classic? Take Pason's ferry from Lith Harbor for 1,500 mesos (MapleClassic Wiki). Florina Beach links only to A Look-Out Shed Around the Beach, so all six maps sit behind the beach.
What level is Florina Beach for? About 36–50. Lorangs are Lv 38, Torties Lv 46 and Clangs Lv 49 (NiaMeowDB, MSQ).
Where do I get coconuts for Riel's quest? From the Coconut breakables on the six Florina Road maps. NiaMeowDB lists 92 placements, with 23 on Hot Sand. No monster drop is recorded.
Is the Special Taste of Florina Beach chain worth it? Yes, if you're training there anyway. It pays 29,240 EXP, 15,210 mesos and 105 Blue Potions across four quests (MSQ; our sums).
Which class is best on Hot Sand? Magicians. Torties have zero magic defense, and Clangs are weak to Lightning (NiaMeowDB).
Can you use a Return Scroll in Florina Beach? Not in town. NiaMeowDB marks Florina Beach as a map where Return Scrolls do nothing, so talk to Pison or walk out to A Look-Out Shed Around the Beach first. Valen sells potions, so you rarely need to leave to restock.
